I think Alexander Ludwig is doing a fantastic job with Bjorn and next weeks episode 3 will be great for him.
I also enjoying a lot Rollo’s arc with the France Storyline. Not sure about Wessex but I like the actress playing Judith, hope this leads to something worth watching.
I am glad Floki is getting what has been coming for here since season 1.

February 26, 2016 at 7:26 am #367972Holy crap talk about Vikings!!!!
So happy to see “Judith” represented. All of these characters are in the history books….
I’m probably going to fast forward through Bjorn’s encounter with that bear…lol.
Very glad there is finally some convo about this amazing series. There is a Vikings thread buried somewhere, but few if anyone posted in there.
Now, a Versailles thread would knock me over….

Ye I think it is the season 1 thread, I can help but think how underrated this show is, think about a perfect cast, I even think Fimmel had a very competitive tape on the episode where he buried Athelstan, his performance there knocked it out of the park.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 27, 2016 at 4:25 am #367974“Athelstan”, is the only fictitious character in the series (although there was a King Athelstan, but not this guy). I couldnt believe they ‘offed’ him; although he’s popped up now in Versailles. He’s fabulous in this!
Of course, I fast-forwarded through “Sacrifice” and “Blood Eagle”, but all the rest I’ve seen in it’s entirety.
There’s a strong Canadian element to this series as well, which is always a bonus for me.
Happy to see I’m not the only one watching!

Okay.. Guess I have to go and watch Versaille now.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 28, 2016 at 4:30 am #367976Versailles is a visual treat, as well as one of those ‘serious’ historical series that so far, keeps things close to the ‘records’. I wouldnt say Blagden looks anything like Louis XIV, but he plays the guy the way he saw himself, as “The State”. His brother Phillippe was openly gay, and I’d like to see the series pursue this fact.
The costumes and sets are luxurious, and the storylines so far, very intriguing, at least imo.
If you watch Denis, I hope you enjoy it!

Philip K Dick Blade RunnerMarch 4, 2016 at 7:19 am #367977Ok, so what they didn’t have the budget to do a “Revenant” bear fight? lol
It was still awesome. It’s amazing the impact Athelstan had on this show, I thought that scene was masterfull with all the three characters finally letting him go.
Floki is back and that I can’t wait to watch Bjorn Vs The Berserker next week!!!!!!!!
