Saw Luca’s point about TGW and agree that the show was fantastic from S1-5 and peaked at 5. Catching up on the final season of The Good Wife now and my god how did the Television Academy snub Cumming and Margulies and how on Earth have Cummings and Noth never won Emmys for TGW?

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

Watched Pose 2.01 and that was unsurprisingly amazing. Porter is already looking good for a second Emmy nom. The only thing that bugs me a bit – and don’t get me wrong, Rodriguez is fantastic and I love, love, love Blanca – is that Blanca is so 1000% selfless, to the point where it doesn’t even seem that realistic anymore. I can’t be the only one, right?

Expecting you watch the 4th episode and make a case for Angelica Ross emmy nomination next year. What a great performance she made.

Catching up on The Crown. I like politics and character studies with big budgets, so I don’t know why it took me this long to get started.

Also, I’m watching Ken Burns’ WWII series. It isn’t as good as his Vietnam War series which I loved, and the stuff about battles has been largely boring, but the human stories and civilian life in America stuff have been fascinating.

I’ve bounced off a lot of animated series, but I have finally found one I really love. It’s called A Place Further Than The Universe. It’s about a group of teenagers in Japan who were previously strangers grouping up together to go for a trip to Antarctica. It’s a surprisingly grounded and emotional series about the desire to do more with one’s life.

    For Your Consideration:

    Best Picture: Parasite

I just finished On Becoming a God in Central Florida. The show had its ups and downs (more downs in the second half of the season) but the performances are really great.
Kirsten Dunst has a name and juicy role here to justify some recognition. Theodore Pellerin was a revelation for me. He could be big in couple of years. I will be rooting for them to score some awards buzz. Mel Rodriguez was great as always. Very reliable performer. And even Beth Ditto has surprised me – she kept up with the rest, was really good.
