I’m assuming these are okay to post, as I think I’ve seen them discussed here previous years.

The sexism of the person’s description of The Crown speaks for itself.

Not much to see here I’m afraid...

    (Your link was not working.)

I almost stopped reading early on, but I ultimately kept going and I was won over by how much he watched. Might like to see these be less “brutally honest” in the future though. Do we need to see people giving into their worst instincts like that?

This might be fake news though. Only the documentary branch votes on the documentary series race and they are allowed to vote for as many nominees as they like, so “I can’t vote for that over The Last Dance” does not really track.

There’s also some pretty blatant sexism in how this person described The Handmaid’s Tale and Watchmen. Apparently THT is too similar to what’s going on in the real world, but Watchmen is “eerie” and “lyrical” and he (we all know this is a he) praises it for being “an indictment of our country right now.” Watchmen is female-led, but it’s not a virtually entirely female-driven feminist project in the way THT is, and I think that’s exactly the difference that drives this voter away from THT.

Yeah, can’t overstate the sexism dripping all over this ballot. Yikes.

EDIT: Thanks for fixing the link, Riley! 🙂

Old white man. Dead at Ted Danson being anything’s “treasure”. Good for voting for Succession and Watchmen though. And Insecure is the funniest show in that category, like… wyd?

This reads like the person thinks he’s really woke and feminist when in reality he’s implicitly sexist and demeaning to women. So ya, definitely a white male millennial.

Not much to see here I’m afraid...

Feinberg’s tweet says that they are a male Emmy-winning producer.

Aside from “The Crown is a chick show” comment, where is the sexism? He praised Killing Eve season one, The Good PlaceUnorthodoxWatchmenA Black Lady Sketch Show, The Clark Sisters, and Nailed It!, all of which are female-centered shows, and he voted for most of them. Little Fires Everywhere does have issues, Mrs. America can be considered boring for some with its biopic tendencies, and The Handmaid’s Tale is relentlessly dour in its commentary compared to Watchmen. The other female-centered shows he said weren’t for him.

I love how he’s like “there are shows for women and shows for normal people,” that was my favourite part.

I also love how the word racism didn’t come up when describing Watchmen’s themes.

The rampant sexism and “I loved The Kominsky Method” told me everything I needed to know about this voter. Nope.

    Well sure it’s called WatchMEN.

Ugh these ballots are always yikes. Some of the Oscars ones from earlier this year were vile.

There’s nothing “brutally honest” about this, smug idiots just use that phrase to describe themselves when they go out of their way to be stubborn in their baseless dislike of something.

    rubbish
