Fiennes was nominated at SAG in 2019 and was nominated at the Emmys in 2018. Whitford won the Guest Acting Emmy last year.
Both are competing in Supporting Actor this year but which one would you vote for (for the nomination)?

"The Good Fight", "The Other Two" and "Station Eleven" in all categories, Sarah Lancashire ("Julia"), William Jackson Harper ("Love Life") and Luke Kirby ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel")

Maybe for the third season. But there are episodes, like “Night,” in which I don’t think he’s that good.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 4, 2020 at 5:38 am #1203566144I voted Fiennes because he’s gotten better each season in my opinion and Whitford didn’t have a lot to do.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 4, 2020 at 5:39 am #1203566146I honestly feel no shame in saying Fiennes has been and always will be dreadful in this show
ReplyCopy URLJuly 4, 2020 at 5:47 am #1203566155Tbh Fiennes. I don’t remember anything memorable Whitford has done in s3.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 4, 2020 at 7:56 am #1203566223At least to me S3 was mostly about June so the other characters didn’t have enough scenes to deserve nominations for this year.

July 4, 2020 at 8:19 am #1203566271Controversial but I actually think she gives the best performance on the show. Can’t wait to see her deliver again in Stateless. To think ten years ago that we’d be taking the co-lead of Chuck as a serious dramatic actress lmao.
Don’t know if anyone else here played the Mass Effect series, but her vocal performance there proved her dramatic chops to me long before Handmaid’s Tale.

It’s the truth !
ReplyCopy URLJuly 4, 2020 at 8:58 am #1203566406The fact none is leading the poll has led me to put Whitford into 6th.
I had him in eighth, and now I feel pretty reassured about my placement.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 4, 2020 at 10:14 am #1203566534Neither, but if forced to pick (I can’t believe I’m going to say this because I think he’s one of the weak links) I’d vote for Fiennes. Sometimes he looks so done playing Waterford but I found him more menacing in the third season.
I think Whitford did not offer anything new despite his increased screentime. He’d likely get in over Fiennes, though.
