What three wins in any category at any award show pertaining to television was the most gratifying for you? I’m talking about ones that you actively watched/followed, hence the restriction of the decade since most people are in their twenties here.

Viola Davis for “HTGAWM” (S1) and no one even comes close. I wouldn’t be an awards fanatic, wouldn’t have found this site, wouldn’t write for this site if it wasn’t for her. I remember sitting there knowing absolutely nothing about how everything worked, praying she’d snatch that Emmy for S1. And she did!

My HM would probably be Ann Dowd. One of the most adorable, most genuine speeches EVER. I was so, so happy for her.

Oscar FYC -- Give Viola Davis her second Oscar!

    Bryan Cranston whenever he won

    RAMIN DJAWADI for composing GoT

In terms of wins that were particularly gratifying because they were so deserved but not necessarily expected, Foy and Hader in 2018.

Claire Foy winning her richly deserved Emmy for The Crown is THE most satisfying win for me. I actually paced around my room in anticipation and let out a small scream when I found out she had won, even though I was predicting the same. These are the moments that make following these awards absolutely worthwhile.

Keri Russell and Carrie Coon winning Individual Achievement in Drama at the TCAs in consecutive years.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

I loved that The Americans took two major wins in 2018, but I think most of us expected those to happen. There were three wins that weren’t frontrunners that year, however, that I was very pleased about:
    1. Thandie Newton for Westworld.
    2. Claire Foy for The Crown.
    3. Bill Hader for Barry.

Not one was at the top of their category predictions-wise, but after watching all the nominees I was sure they’d win because their performances were just too good to deny. Claire Foy and Thandie Newton have already gained legendary status in my mind, and Bill Hader managed to stun everyone with a performance that was gut-busting and gut-wrenching in equal measures. Game of Thrones winning drama series again was a travesty, I didn’t care much for the first season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and I won’t even get started on Twin Peaks, but the Academy did show much more class than I’d anticipated that year.

Luca, I won’t dare go behind you and tamper with the perfection you stated! You said it all! This win was it!!

Also, Jharrel Jerome for Outstanding Actor in a Limited series or TV movie this year

Third would be Sarah Paulson’s win for Oustanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie.

Of those not mentioned (Foy is of course my #1)…

It was the first time I ever watched the Globes and thought wow they really did watch some television this year.
