Please help me guys who are watching season 3.Is it like TD season 1 or anywhere near it?I know Mahershala will be awesome but it the drama any good.February 3, 2019 at 2:38 pm #1202760402
Everything so far has been building up Episode 5 and boy it was worth it! Four or five sequences in this episode that were absolutely incredible. Dorff has that Emmy nomination locked down.
Lawson & Robinson at Vanity Fair are convinced that Wayne and Roland killed Harris James, but Travers at IndieWire is convinced they killed Tom. Thoughts? Their murdering Tom would be a dark turn for sureFebruary 3, 2019 at 11:36 pm #1202760634
Mahershala is winning an Emmy this year too. Goodness.February 4, 2019 at 12:15 am #1202760652
Did anyone catch that thing in the laptop? Pretty awesome!! (Couldn’t figure out how to post the picture alone)
Was it even in this week’s episode? They took the frame from the “in the coming episodes” trailer, maybe it’ll show up only later

I’m also curious about the cover-up (murder?) that Wayne and Roland mention as old men. It’s crazy how convincing both Ali and Dorff are in all of this old-age makeup that could have gone so badly in the wrong hands. Get that HBO money, bitches! Everything is deepening and enriching as the series progresses. The hunt for (adult) Julie begins! I’ve been waiting for that present-day meeting with Roland, which was just stellar. I’ll also mention a brief yet powerful exchange between adult Freddy, Roland, and Wayne. I’m not familiar with Rhys Wakefield other than him being Australian, which you would have never known from this accent. He really stepped up with the big boys there lol. And I’ll repeat: Mahershala Ali is now the frontrunner to win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series/Made for Television Film.February 4, 2019 at 9:40 am #1202761023
I agree this season is just getting better and better. Damn fine television.
I’m all for Marshala winning, and the series as a whole for that matter (for now)

What are chances of Mahershala Ali winning Emmy for True Detective this year?February 8, 2019 at 8:48 am #1202765196
Ali is killing it!February 8, 2019 at 9:09 am #1202765209
For me season 3 has been a very good detective show. Season 1 was something more than that.February 10, 2019 at 11:21 am #1202767665
Episode Title: “Hunters in the Dark”
Synopsis: Wayne and Roland revisit discrepancies in the Purcell case that have been hidden or forgotten over the years. Among those being reevaluated is Tom Purcell, as well as Lucy Purcell’s cousin Dan O’Brien. The glitter of Amelia’s book release is tarnished by a voice from the past.
