What are some TV cancellations that really hurt you as a fan of said shows.May 9, 2015 at 7:17 am #348053
Black Donnellys bummed me out. But was stoked to see Johnathan Tucker kill it n Justified.May 9, 2015 at 7:40 am #348054
Forever – I actually cried when I found out.May 9, 2015 at 8:14 am #348055
If you are talking about shows that were cancelled after one season, it would be Rubicon and Luck. Still mourning. Still wishing there could be more of both. It especially hurt, since AMC continued to renew Hell on Wheels. Ugh.
I’m sure some will say Firefly, as I see that brought up often in this type of conversation. A year or so ago, I watched the series on DVD, to see what the fuss was about. Not sure I would have been that hurt about it being cancelled, but I can see why other people would.
But losing Rubicon and Luck = total bummage.
But I can’t think of longer running shows that got cancelled that bummed me out. Most of my favorites continued until the showrunners decided to end them. As it should be, if we (and they) are lucky.May 9, 2015 at 8:17 am #348056
“My So-Called Life”May 9, 2015 at 9:46 am #348057
Carnivale, Rome, Arrested Development, Rubicon, Luck, Firefly, Happy Endings, Party Down, Terriers, Legit, Better Off Ted, Pushing Daisies…all pretty rough.
But Deadwood is the mother of all tragic cancellations.May 9, 2015 at 10:30 am #348058
Angel, Bunheads, The Crazy Ones, Pushing Daisies, Tru Calling, and WonderfallsMay 9, 2015 at 10:57 am #348059
Pushing Daisies, Flashforward, Samantha Who?.May 9, 2015 at 11:54 am #348060
I gave ‘Terriers’ my best drama award along with ‘Game of Thrones’ S1, so it would have to be that.

I thought Terrier first season felt pretty complete though. While I woould have loved more seasons, I felt it had a satisfying ending.May 9, 2015 at 12:19 pm #348062
I suppose. I mean it did end on a cliffhanger, but I think it is reasonably obvious which way the story was going.
Still, sad that we couldn’t have more of it! Damn that title…May 9, 2015 at 3:11 pm #348063
The most obvious one for me has already been mentioned, Pushing Daisies. I was also pretty sad that when Flight of the Conchords didn’t get any more seasons, but that was probably more about the Conchords not wanting to continue. I’m also in the minority that wanted to see more Terra Nova. It could have been great if it was given more time.

There have been instances where I was sad – and there were instances where I just got mad, mostly because the shows couldn’t get a proper ending. I was really sad about Enlightened, Looking, Family Tree, Hello Ladies, Enlisted, Happy Endings, Trophy Wife, The Neighbors, Political Animals, Go On and Ben and Kate. And I just got angry at the ABC and FXX when they announced the cancellations of Brothers and Sisters and Legit. Although I have stopped watching the show beforehand – but TNT did a disservice to the fans by cancelling Dallas when Jesse Metcalfe’s character got killed off in the last seconds and without any resolution to any of the storylines.May 9, 2015 at 6:53 pm #348065
Happy Endings, Community, Arrested Development, Better off Ted, and… Bored to Death.May 9, 2015 at 8:32 pm #348066
Those two hurt the most. Like seriously, seriously upset.
Better Off Ted
The Mindy Project
Enlightened. But it did have an ending anyway.
I know there were problems with Trophy Wife, Ben and Kate and Go On, but they had some really great things in general.
Back when I was younger I remember being upset that Grosse Pointe and Action were cancelled. I think it was Action, that series with Jay Moore and Ileana Douglas (where the hell is she?). But I don’t remember a lot about those shows now…
