I just created this thread because I need to say that I would be fine with KE winning Drama Series and it’s not nearly as bad of a choice as some of y’all make it seem. Definitely not the best choice of the lineup but the Drama categories are such a mess this year that I’m numb to it all

Better Call Saul would have my vote and KE is arguably 4th or 5th quality wise in the line-up, not saying KE would be my choice but it’s just not as bad of a choice as it would be otherwise given the overall quality of the Drama categories this year

I rewatched Glee yesterday and while Lynch and Michele were as good as I remembered (their acting was very serviceable to the tone of the show), Matthew Morrison is actively bad and pretty unlikable. I wonder if that changes on AHS tonight. Also, Chenoweth’s April Rhodes is one of the best comedy guest actress wins of the 21st century.September 18, 2019 at 10:33 am #1203084558

I totally agree, I know he was arguably the most “leading” male character but I can’t believe that the Emmys singled him out that first year when there were 10x more deserving performances in that cast.

Conversation that we’re having about Phoebe in Gold Derby Awards thread, reminded me about my little dirty secret that I’m scared to admit even to myself in front of the mirror.
As good as it was, season 2 of Fleabag was in my opinion inferior to season 1.September 18, 2019 at 12:38 pm #1203084900

I guess here comes my unpopular opinion: I didn’t like Chenoweth in Glee at all. Her character was extremely grating and her performance did nothing to counter that.September 18, 2019 at 12:57 pm #1203084950
Chernobyl is the most overrated show ever. I have no idea what people saw in that first episode to immediately rate it over 9.5 .September 18, 2019 at 12:58 pm #1203084952

Her character for sure sucks, but I thought she was perfection at it. But yeah, in one episode she (a grown woman) gets a kid drunk, encourages two others to steal, and is implied to have had sex with the whole football team…. how was this show allowed? Lmao watching Glee as an adult is a much different experienceSeptember 18, 2019 at 12:58 pm #1203084959
Michael Douglas is a rubbish actor and The Kominsky Method is cringeworthy.
Kristen Wiig looks like an arrogant sourpuss who’s not that interesting in dramatic roles.
Peter Dinklage doesn’t deserve an Emmy, mostly because his accent was appalling for 8 seasons.September 18, 2019 at 1:28 pm #1203085011This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.September 18, 2019 at 5:27 pm #1203085555
These shouldn’t be an unpopular opinions, but the fact that one of them got nominated for an Emmy, and both of them were up for guest actress on this site means that they apparently are.
Amy Sedaris’ Mimi Kanasis is one of the most annoying characters I’ve ever seen on a TV show. I appreciate Sedaris giving the role her all, but I can’t find anything enjoyable in a completely stupid, unlikable, and incompetent character who never stops screaming.
As for another guest spot on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Tina Fey’s turn as Marcia Clark is the first season is embarrassingly awful. Seriously, why did she do that? What did she have to gain out of making a woman who suffered so much public humiliation all those years ago look like such a stupid, unlikable, and incompetent (I’m sensing a pattern here) loser? I honestly have no idea why Marcia Clark and Chris Darden were in those episodes. It would be one thing if the show was satirizing a recent trial, but why choose to make fun of these people who were already humiliated nonstop such a long time ago? It’s not like there was a whole lot of new material to work with. The whole thing felt so out of place and pointlessly mean spirited. Does Fey just really hate Clarke and Darden? I found their presence to be especially awful since I watched the first season of Kimmy Schmidt after I had already seen American Crime Story, where they’re depicted as flawed but very sympathetic figures. I think a lot of Tina Fey’s recent work is very hit and miss, but this is possibly Fey at her lowest. If she was gonna go out of her way to cruelly insult these two, she should’ve at least had something funny to say about them. Instead it was just horribly uncomfortable.September 18, 2019 at 8:03 pm #1203085774
Vincent D’Onofrio should’ve been nominated for Daredevil’s first two seasons (supporting for the first and guest for the second), Jon Bernthal should’ve been nominated for the second, David Tennant should’ve been nominated for the first season of Jessica Jones, and Mahershala Ali should’ve been nominated in guest for the first season of Luke Cage (can’t believe they submitted him as supporting when he had the perfect number of episodes to compete as a guest). I can’t speak for those shows later seasons cause I ultimately wasn’t able to keep up with them.
