« Dark » is the best series Netflix have ever done and it’s criminally underrated (awards wise).

    This should not be unpopular.

Big fan of Better Call Saul, Sex Education, Barry, BoJack Horseman, and, especially, Survivor

I still think The Office US is overrated.

I have nightmares just thinking of the last two seasons.

They really should’ve just ended it once Carell left. The rest of the cast is strong, but it became clear that he was the main reason it worked.

    That’s not an unpopular opinion.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

Killing Eve is unwatchable when Jodie Comer isn’t on screen.

Kerry washington getting nominated over Michele Dockery for limited actress category would be a farce. Dockery elevated her material while Washington made it even more cringey  and  melodramatic in a bad way. My real unpopular opinion is Kaitlyn Dever was better then Wever in unbelievable and should be the one getting in, if only one lead actress from unbelievable can get in.

That’s not an unpopular opinion cause she’s praising everywhere and many think she gave the best performance in the show (with Colette)

Over here at least, I see clear a consensus of Wever being the go to pick between Dever and Wever. Performance wise Dever should be the nom and win competitive imo

Don’t worry, both will be nominated!

Maybe it’s just because I love the character from the original story, but the Ozymandias subplot was my favorite part of Watchmen.

These 2 comments are the definition of unpopular, but they are also Emmy-related. However, these do not belong in the comedy reactions topic because the nominations are already set in stone and talk is rightfully focused on who should/will win. So, IMO… 1) The ‘broadcast network slot’ in comedy lead actress looks like it came down to Tracee Ellis Ross or Kristen Bell. Forget Jane Levy; she’ll get her chance next year and in 2022, perhaps. The voters’ hatred of Bell over the past 15 years is legend, and despite the fact Black-ish’s best days, quality wise are behind it, Ellis Ross made it through. Season 6 of Black-ish was such an afterthought it received no Rotten Tomatoes OR Metacritic rating. It was shut out at SAG, Golden Globes, Critics Choice and TCA. Which brings up the legit possibility that TER was a diversity nomination after not making the 2019 Emmy field. And Bell will forever go unrecognized for TWO jaw-dropping, career-best performances (the other, of course, was Veronica Mars). 2) Prentice Penny, the showrunner of Insecure, in his July 6 op-ed screed on the Deadline Hollywood website: https://deadline.com/2020/07/prentice-penny-hollywood-blackface-commentary-diversity-plan-guest-column-1202978040 …didn’t trust his own cast and creatives from what all accounts was the show’s best season yet. Insecure was, from here, guaranteed a minimum of 5 nominations (should’ve gotten writing/directing along w/series, Rae and Orji). Instead, IMO, he not only played the race card, he dealt it from the bottom of the deck. And the tragedy is, he didn’t have to.

Don’t waste your time hating Ross or Penny, Bell would’ve missed even if their shows weren’t in contention.

Was there a filter on your end that prevented you from seeing this: “Insecure was, from here, guaranteed a minimum of 5 nominations (should’ve gotten writing/directing along w/series, Rae and Orji).” My point was, Penny didn’t have to go there. Insecure belongs in the comedy race for a job well done last season. Tracee Ellis Ross…not so much.

I saw what you wrote and it was clearly being negative about Penny.
