After a couple months of hiatus I finally finished The Leftovers and I can say it’s kinda overrated. I’ve seen this show a lot in best shows of the decade lists and it definitely doesn’t deserve that. This show could have been better if the finale was put at the end of S1. Some of the storylines didn’t make sense at all.October 16, 2020 at 6:08 am #1203781956
The opener of Westworld season 3 was quite good and was much better than a lot of season 2 and had the season been of the same quality as “Parce Domine” it would have been deserving of more Emmy nods.
Also whilst I personally thought the rest of the season was a car crash if only two Westworld actors were to be nominated this season it should have been Evan Rachel Wood who was nominated with Thandie Newton and not Jeffrey Wright.

The Crown is soulless middlebrow pablum whose only reason for existing is award shows. Its success therein is due to the embarrassing Anglophilia of voters, Netflix’s overall cultural penetration, and the amount of money that went into making it. Even then, the show only won two below the line Emmys this year.
Also, the campaign that got Foy her Emmy was appalling, mostly because it worked. “Now’s your last chance to award this virtually unknown actress in her early 30s for a role she played for two seasons.” Get out of here with that.October 16, 2020 at 7:01 pm #1203783503
Will and Grace, Modern Family, Maisel and The Great all deserved directing more than Schitt’s Creek this year but Schitt’s Creek still deserved writing, s. actress and actress (as much as when it came to tape this year I preferred Brosnahan this year the deserving winner was O’Hara). Oh and Series lol.

The biggest snub in Supporting Actor in a Drama Series this year was not Tom Pelphrey but it was Josh O’Connor and he should have benefitted from a Succession vote-split not Crudup or Pelphrey.
Also Crudup is the weakest winner in that category ever.

The Handmaid’s Tale deserved to sweep again for season 2.October 17, 2020 at 11:51 am #1203784459
Billy Crudup’s performance in the Morning Show was nothing short of bland, conventional, and overrated. He just reiterated the overplayed “smarmy corporate anti-hero with grand schemes that every one else is too stupid to understand” archetype with little depth or dimension, absolutely nothing special or groundbreaking or recognition worthy. He’s like a Suits character, and did not deserve to be anywhere near that Emmy. But he is very cute, so I’ll give him points for that.

The Handmaid’s Tale deserved to sweep again for season 2.
Well my unpopular opinion is not when two better seasons (in fact two of the best seasons of television in recent times) were right there.
Although The Handmaid’s Tale s2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Game of Thrones s7.October 17, 2020 at 12:08 pm #1203784487
Desperate Housewives should have been nominated for Comedy Series in all their elegible yearsOctober 17, 2020 at 12:13 pm #1203784500
It’s my opinion.
I know and I was disagreeing with it.
It’s a democracy after all 🙂October 17, 2020 at 12:48 pm #1203784556
I loved Big Little Lies season 2 lolOctober 17, 2020 at 3:44 pm #1203784832
It’s my opinion.
You’ll find people on here that make the point of such threads pretty useless so I usually try not to venture here. Like I can never understand the objective of coming to just disagree with an unpopular opinion, state an obviously much more commonly shared one and not add anything even remotely relevant or substantial to it as was just done. Seems so silly honestly.October 17, 2020 at 4:12 pm #1203784886
state an obviously much more commonly shared one
The opinion that The Handmaid’s Tale season 2 is better than GoT s7 or that The Crown season 2 is one of the best seasons of a television show in recent time are not much more commonly shared on this site lol.
But I’m guessing my post – suggesting that my previous post was an unpopular opinion – is an unpopular one 😉. This attempt at exacerbating an issue that wasn’t even there seems so silly honestly.October 17, 2020 at 9:17 pm #1203785394
Margo Martindale was the weakest part of the ensemble of Mrs. America. Elizabeth Banks, Rose Byrne, Ari Graynor and Sarah Paulson would have been more deserving nominees than she was at the Emmys.
EDIT – Also Sarah Paulson’s performance in Mrs. America is on the same level as her performance as Marcia Clark in OJ Simpson.
