Also Anna should’ve won for her breakdown in the middle of season 4.Iconic

I know some think her wins were all lazy name-checks but she thoroughly deserved each of them. The intensity and nuance she brings to this character was incredible and the way she managed to effortlessly deliver even with the most subtle pieces of dialogue on the show really showed how much of a bravura performance it was.

Anna Chlumsky too. She should have won at least one Emmy for playing Amy Brookheimer. It’s funny because I just saw In the Loop the other day and she’s in it as a character who on paper is very similar to Amy but she plays the character so differently that she’s almost unrecognisable.

I could not have said it better mysf qhat she did as Selina Meyer was legendary and deserved all her wins and deserved to win for the last season as well.

For me JLD’s best performance in Veep was in that finale. Closely followed by her work in “Mother”.

    Mild spoilers for WandaVision

I liked WandaVision and thought Elizabeth Olsen was excellent but I felt really UNDERWHELMED by Kathryn Hahn’s performance. Perhaps this was because I wasn’t watching it in real time and I had already seen so much hype and praise for Hahn’s performance but there was nothing special about it. Hahn has delivered worthier performances in the past in Mrs. FletcherPrivate Life and Transparent (amongst other things) and whilst I appreciated her deconstruction of the suburban housewife in the earlier parts of the show, her performance after the *twist* was decidedly average.

She’s overdue and should already have received recognition for other pieces of her filmography but there are around 5 other performances eligible in that category that are more deserving of the win.

I won’t mind her likely Emmy win because she’s overdue and should already have received recognition for other pieces of her filmography but there are around 5 other performances eligible in that category that are more deserving of the win.

    Make that 10.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

I seriously do not get the hype behind her performance?

It’s honestly just an average villain role that other performers have played in other superhero films. Hahn did nothing new or spectacular and it would be a shame for her to win and when there are so many other more deserving and groundbreaking performances in this category.

Hahn was terrible after she stopped playing the noisy neighbor. Completely overhyped.

“The Great” deserved noms across the board for its first season and Nicholas Hoult should’ve been in the running to win.

How is this an unpopular opinion? It’s pretty much the consensus.

Been watching Grownish and i just gotta say, 2 seasons in and this is so much better than anything it’s parent show (Blackish) has done in years.

Emmys FYC | Alan Tudyk in “Resident Alien” | Billie Piper in “I Hate Suzie” | Ego Nwodim in “Saturday Night Live” | Kaley Cuoco in “Harley Quinn” | “Dickinson” | “P-Valley” | “Pose” | “Superstore”

Tatiana Maslany getting a supporting actress push for Perry Mason is weird to me because her performance really wasn’t that interesting and she wasn’t even the best supporting actress on that show – Juliet Rylance, Gayle Rankin and Lili Taylor were all better.

I’m halfway through the first season of Mad Men and I’m surprised the first episode won the Emmy for writing. Later episodes are much more better than the first episode.

I agree completely. I had to restart the first episode over at least a dozen times. I kept turning it off because it was boring and I just could not get myself to finish watching it. I’m happy I did because later episodes were amazing.

I feel like people have been too harsh on Ryan Murphy’s Netflix shows.

Hollywood wasn’t great and I do think it got the critical reception it deserved but neither The Politician season 2 or Ratched deserved a rotten score or a 49 Metacritic score. Neither of those two are “divine masterpieces” and I do agree that Murphy’s shows with FX are of a higher quality than both but The Politician is far better than Emily in Paris. The Undoing and Ratched were both levelled the same criticisms yet the former is rated fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and the latter gets a yellow on Metacritic? The Prom was flawed as a film but far better on a qualitative level than some of the mediocrity Netflix put out last year (and far more entertaining).

No one is asking for these projects to get raves or for them to receive critical acclaim but it feels somewhat hypocritical that something like The Politician or Ratched are receiving similar reviews to things more criticised like Space Force and Malcom and Marie when the criticisms levelled to those two shows are similar to something like The Undoing or Made for Love and both those shows receive fresh scores on Rotten Tomatoes.
