Hannibal is the best drama currently airing.

Walton Goggins is the best supporting actor of a show still airing.

Lost was indeed a masterpiece and one of all time best.

Hello ladies was extremely funny and Christine Woods is the best supporting actress of any comedy this season.

Woody Harrelson was extremely overrated on TD, this coming from a huge fan of his work.

Boardwalk Empire should win best directing again (farewell Daddy Blues) and maybe writing.

Michael Cudlitz (just make it up for his SouthLAnd Snub) should be nominated along with Melissa McBride in The Walking Dead.

Aside from the premiere, House of Cards was extremely bad and only Robin Wright should be nominated.

The only good thing about Orphan is Maslany, and the Tail. The rest is garbage.

Modern Family should have been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series just for its first season.

-Both seasons of House of Cards were bad, and the Frank Underwood character is even worse.

-Every season of Boardwalk Empire belonged in Best Drama Series. Michael K. Williams gave the best performance on any show of this Emmy season.

-Harrelson was better than McConaughey on True Detective.
-Lena Headey is awful on Game of Thrones and will never get an Emmy nomination.

-Dexter was never really that great/impressive to begin with beyond MCH’s performance and entertainment value. Seasons 5-8 were all horrible.

-The Pacific was kind of a disappointment.

-After Mad Men and Breaking Bad, AMC’s best show ever was Rubicon by far.

-Seasons 1 and 2 were the only times Sons of Anarchy was good.

-The final year of Futurama was great (I think technically it’s the second half of a season).

-Seasons 2-4 of Breaking Bad are all way better than Season 5. “Ozymandias” would not make my top 10 episodes. The show would only lessen in quality if there were any additional episodes (same with Lost).

-Girls hasn’t had a bad episode and I enjoy the presence/performance of every main character.

-David Boreanaz is not very good on Buffy, even though there are some terrific storylines involving him. I am only mildly curious about watching Angel, mostly for what I hear about other characters’ arcs.

-Battlestar Galactica had a great finale. The mythology was never really treated as being as crucial as Lost’s was, and I still didn’t think there was much of importance that didn’t make sense. And then the movie “The Plan” explained the rest.

-I didn’t care much about Carnivale’s mythology either, and I actually think the cancelled-finale works great as an ending. Toby Huss as Stumpy, completely removed from the mythos, was my favourite character.

-Vincent Kartheiser is probably giving the best performance on Mad Men.

-Despite brief fluctuations, 30 Rock was great for its entire run.

Emilia Clarke’s performance is totally overrated. The character she plays got nominated for an Emmy, not her performance.

Also true. Evident from the episode choice where the actress doesn’t really do anything.

Just finished watching season 1 and 2 of “Scandal”. One of the most overrated series I’ve watched in some time. Not nearly bad, but way way below in quality of all the tv shows, mostly non-network, that I’m used to. Am I the only one actively wishing against that drunk philandering slut of a president and his possies? To begin with, the writing is incredibly amateurish (I swear to god one more time they throw in that ‘be a gladiator’ shit again..) Watching it was uniquely frustrating as it was so predicatable and formulaic at times, yet the soapy-feel of the show made it just about interesting enough nonetheless. The ever unending on/off relationship of Olivia and President Fitz became tiresome soon enough and I was actively rooting for the First Lady starting from the midway 2nd season. Kerry Washington was fun in the 1st season but there is no hiding that all she can really give us in terms of acting is show us the same three variations of the same constipated face she has the whole 2nd season. Watching the 3rd season tomorrow. Hoping for huge improvements.

    – Sofia Vergara, Ed O’ Neil, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson just SUCK. They should never have been nominated for anything.

    – Tony Hale and Anna Clumsky should be snubbed this year. They have more deserving co-stars.

    – Kevin Spacey is overrated in House of Cards and shouldn’t be nominated.

    REDUX:

    Breaking Bad… is okay.
Game of Thrones… has too much nudity for me, it’s like I’m watching medieval porn. (But I still like the show)
    Scandal… is overrated.
Kerry Washington… has never had a good performance in any movie/TV show
The Simpsons… is still funny to me.
Seinfeld… is an awesome show, except for when everyone on the show is so mean.
    Mad Men… is still awesome
Archer… I do not like at all.
American Idol… has great talent this year.
Nicki Minaj… was a good judge on AI last year, I felt.
Ty Burrell… is the only good thing about Modern Family.
Family Guy… my favourite character is Meg.
and to re-iterate: American Dad!… is the most underrated comedy in television history.

I agree on every single one of these counts Tyler

    – Archie Panjabi was ridiculously snubbed last year. She should win once more and her character is one of the best things about the show.
Oh, and I actually liked her husband storyline!

    – I have considered The Walking Dead one of the six best dramas in tv ever since its first season.

    – I LOVE THE CHARACTER OF SKYLER WHITE ever since the first episode. I will defend it till the end.

    – Dexter post season 4 is still amazing, with season 5 and 7 being among the top 3.

This one is both popular and unpopular:

Modern Family deserves 5 wins in comedy series. It has been the best comedy on tv for five years. It has tied with parks and rec and veep at one point or another though…

As for Skyler, while I didn’t love her at first, I didn’t understand the hate. There are “nagging wife” characters who deserve far more scorn than Skyler. Plus, as the writing/storylines improved for Skyler, so did Anna Gunn’s performance, which made the character more likable and sympathetic. By Season 5, if you weren’t on Skyler’s side by then, I give up. Gunn was a worthy winner last year (especially with no Jennifer Carpenter, see below), and will be even more deserving this year, as she is my #1 pick by a large margin.

On Dexter, yes season 7 was definitely one of the best, with a series-best performance from Jennifer Carpenter as Deb. Too bad season 8 took the rebound in quality from Season 7 and threw it away. As for season 5, while it did have its weak spots, all the scenes with Dexter and Lumen (a great guest performance from Julia Stiles) were captivating and held my interest. Good thing they took up most of the season.

    Really? Wow, mind blown.

I'm not perfect, but I keep trying.

I slept through most of True Detective. The performances were really good but I found the pacing to be way too slow for my tastes. It took me four tries to actually finish the finale.

Ditto!! I’ve watched the first two episodes and found it excruciatingly slow for my taste. I will probably change my view regarding this after I watch the whole season. But for now, or for the past two months, the thought of having to sit through six more of these hasn’t excited me enough to complete the remaining episodes. But I will before the Emmys.
