Not in a milion years. Not over the likes of Indya Moore, Susan Kelechi Watson, Julia Garner, Frances Conroy, Sarah Snook or hell, even Keeley Hawes.
Snook is (unfortunately) in lead, which is a bummer because she would make a great nominee in the weak ass supporting field.June 25, 2019 at 3:16 pm #1202951656
Julia Louis Dreyfus and Doris Roberts have stolen Emmys from other deserving actresses.July 2, 2019 at 9:21 am #1202959158
Taraji P. Henson should have won the emmy in 2015.July 2, 2019 at 9:30 am #1202959173
Kerry Washington should’ve been nominated for season 4 of Scandal and won as a make-up win for season 3.July 2, 2019 at 11:03 am #1202959334
That’s what the acting branch does. Overdue, make-up, consolation Emmys. That’s why I think Lena Headey is winning this year. 🤞July 2, 2019 at 11:16 am #1202959377
You know I believe that anyways. Comer (industry love) and Oh (industry support) will vote-split, Wright is winning final season Emmy. See ya on Emmys night.July 2, 2019 at 11:39 am #1202959480
Mandy Moore deserved an Emmy non last year and I’ll never be over it. Also, Keri Russell should have won. Shame she doesn’t have an Emmy (or even a Globe) for playing Elizabeth Jennings. Might be my favorite TV performance this decade, tbh.July 2, 2019 at 11:40 am #1202959484
Agreed but not as a make-up win because of her outlandishly good performances in the ninth and tenth episodes of season 4
You’re right. Where the Sun Don’t Shine and Run were so iconic for her. I don’t know how she didn’t get, at the very least, nominated after the latter episode.July 2, 2019 at 11:44 am #1202959503
Because Viola Davis took her place for what was, IMO, a vastly superior performance. Don’t get me wrong, Washington was freakin’ excellent in “Run,” but Davis stole her thunder when Murder’s first season premiered though. I still wish Davis had won for S2 too (or as well), because her performance in 2.14 is unforgettable.July 2, 2019 at 11:52 am #1202959534
I’d say it was less Davis and more Henson that took her place. Sadly I think the 2015 television academy was never going to nominate three non-white actresses in one category so when Empire landed Washington was no longer even thought of.
As for my opinion, Davis deserved her win (and it eased the wound of Washington’s snub) but Washington in “Run” is better than Davis has ever been in HTGAWM. I wish Davis had won a year later instead for her series high turn in “There’s My Baby”.July 9, 2019 at 2:12 pm #1202968313
I think this is an actual unpopular opinion, I’ll probably get dragged but whatever.
I agree that the best case scenario is a new category opens up for variety performers. But, while it doesn’t exist, I think certain actors from SNL completely deserve Emmy recognition in the supporting categories. Not Leslie Jones, not Alec Baldwin, but absolutely previous nominees Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, even Aidy Bryant imo. They are behind some of the most iconic comedic performances of the past decade, and its even more impressive when you hear about the time crunch clusterfuck that is a week at SNL. Again, the variety performer category would still be best, but in the mean time, I’m completely behind these performers getting recognition
