So some people who are predicting Witherspoon to be nominated alongside Aniston for The Morning Show have suggested Aniston will lose to Laura Linney by vote splitting.
If you were an Emmy voter who would you vote for?
ReplyFYC:
"The Good Fight", "The Other Two" and "Station Eleven" in all categories, Sarah Lancashire ("Julia"), William Jackson Harper ("Love Life") and Luke Kirby ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel")
May 7, 2020 at 10:44 am #1203469311I don’t think vote splitting will be a problem at all. I can see voters checking Witherspoon off for a nomination, but when it comes down to winning, Aniston will take all the votes

I’m sorry but who said that lol.
ReplyCopy URLMay 7, 2020 at 10:53 am #1203469345I think the number of voters who vote for Witherspoon over Aniston would be negligible. Linney will be winning for many reasons, vote splitting isn’t one of them.

I am sorry, but what? No one’s ever said that. If Linney wins, then because she f*cking deserves it. Period.

People have said it in the past. And yes I know it is ridiculous.

May 7, 2020 at 11:07 am #1203469419Yea I don’t really see this being a vote split. Just look at their winter season run and you can see that Aniston is clearly the favored performance. Aniston was the single most acclaimed thing about TMS whereas Witherspoon was considered by many (not everyone, but many critics did cite this) either miscast or the worst part of the show. I feel like with the Emmy’s it’s generally been seen that if two or more performances from the same show get in the same category, as long as one of them is clearly preferred, it actually helps that person win.

Honestly I think this would be more of a potential split if it was Aniston vs. Witherspoon in Big Little Lies

To all those Witherspoon voters:

ReplyCopy URLMay 7, 2020 at 12:10 pm #1203469625Call me a cynic but I think a lot of Linney stans are just voting for Witherspoon here…
ReplyCopy URLMay 7, 2020 at 12:11 pm #1203469640There must be those who use the Witherspoon option as merely the anti-Aniston/pro-votesplitting vote. I admit to have done similar things on polls in the past
Maybe there should be a “Neither” option?
