Since the Weeds Season 7 discussion at the old forums has been locked, I felt the need to create a thread to discuss the season, and possibly series, finale. It was pretty big, so what are your thoughts?

I liked this finale. Several moments were extremely hilarious mainly the ones between Leigh and Parker who work perfect together. The final moment was also very funny with the girl and the laser, but then the real thing and whatever that final shot was.
If it’s the end then Nancy died. Silas got what he wanted, we’ll never know if Shane will keep shut or eventually f-ck the family over as a cop, and Andy, well, nothing really happened there which is sad. It’s not the finale I would’ve wanted, but it does seem like something like this could eventually happen to the family.
If it’s not the series finale, then how will she survive what can only be a shot to her forehead? Like I’ve said before, no matter how bad the show gets (and this season was very bad), I’ll watch it until the very end, so bring on the new season and the new way Nancy manages to escape something as obvious as a shot to the head.
ReplyCopy URLConsidering how good “Weeds” has been to Showtime over the past 7 years, I can’t imagine them not renewing the show for an 8th (and hopefully final) season. Last year proved the show is still capable of great things, and while year 7 was very uneven, I’m still committed to seeing the Botwin clan through until the end.
This season had some nice moments — Heylia’s return, Shane walking the line between cop and criminal — but most of it felt forced and unnessesary, as if it had all sort of just been thrown together. Obviously, I’m intrigued to see who (if anyone) shot Nancy, and I think there is renewed potential for another season with the family living on the country compound.
Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

ReplyCopy URLThis was really underwhelming. Some scenes, like Nancy and Jill on the subway, were terrific, but as a whole the episode was a letdown. Of course, the main topic for discussion is that final scene. First of all, I really like the premise of the family living together on a “compound” in Connecticut, and I loved the laser pointer moment. How great would it be ending the series with everyone laughing, yet realizing that no matter what they’ll always live with that fear! Then the sniper and the gun shot… if it’s a season finale, I’d love to see how they work their way out of this cliffhanger, and if it is indeed the series finale, I’m both frustrated for more details, angry I won’t get them, and disappointed that it was so bland.
