This episode was just okay. I think I was looking at my phone more than the show so I must have missed whatever happened that’s making everyone rave over it.

So you didn’t watch the episode then.

    No

I watched it. If an episode isn’t engaging enough to hold my interest for the entire episode I can only fault the show unless I know I was distracted or something and never gave it a chance which wasn’t the case this time.

Well, no you didn’t. I don’t care if it didn’t hold your attention you still didn’t watch the episode.

I’m not sure where this is going. If they find the door, then what? Are they gonna start conquering the real world. This show is at risk at actually becoming really bad in the seasons to come. Do they even have a season count plan?

They’ve mentioned a five-season plan before the show premiered.

    Sounds plausible.

Finally caught up with Westworld too. I’m not loving this season – it’s still fine, I guess, but not better than the previous one which was already pretty flawed and on the contrary, probably slightly worse. I don’t think it’s been a consistent season so far: comparing it to THT (sorry, I’m doing this simply because I’ve just caught up with it too, and because I’ve always had similar feelings for both shows), it has more ups, but also more downs. I guess I should just keep quiet and admire all the technical skills at work – they’re impressing indeed. But the writing is sometimes off the road. There are some storylines which keep me extremely interested – everything related to Ford and the William-James Delon thing -, others more or less interested – what Jeffrey Wright has to do is usually appealing to follow – and others bored me to Death – yes Dolores, I’m thinking of you. And I hated the Whole Japanese thing – it felt so dumb, all the time.
Overall I think this series keeps struggling with its dreams of philosophical and intellectual grandeur; it’s still much more spectacular than intelligent. I wouldn’t nominate it for Series and I wouldn’t nominate Evan Rachel Wood, who really doesn’t add any layer to her character; I think Newton and Wright are consistently very good, and I get how the latter could be considered as a lead – I would nominate both. But if I had to pick one, I was really impressed by Peter Mullan’s work, and he would be my top choice in Guest Actor – even before Cameron Britton.

    Couldn’t agree more.

Not to divert the thread, but out of interest what are your Series nominations as of now (from Hannibal fan to Hannibal fan)?

Consider that I’ve watched only a limited number of shows – I like to taste the flavour of each of them slowly, if you know what I mean. As of now, I would nominate The Americans, The Crown, Mindhunter and, yes, Orange Is The New Black; and I would ignore Game of Thrones, Westworld, The Handmaid’s Tale and Stranger Things. It’s not particularly nice to note the Emmys will make the opposite choices. Yours?

Finally someone said this about Wood!! She doesn’t deserve to be nominated!

People really like that last episode, which I did not expect.  It is the best-scoring episode of the season of IMDb and the series on Rotten Tomatoes.  It seems that Zahn McClarnon has a chance after all.  Maybe I should rewatch it.

After watching The Americans everything else pales in comparison tbh. I definitely think Westworld will be in my 6 though, I don’t really see a drop in quality from season 1 like I have with Handmaids.

I assumed people would love the episode because people (especially on this site) tend to love gimmicky one off episodes.
