It is reductive not to come up with better wording, but the show has gotten too sci-fi for me. All of these robots are running around and I just do not care. I do not even care for the performances and I thought that last season should have win ensemble, yet it was not even nominated. Aaron Paul seems to me like another one of those actors who found the perfect role one time, but is otherwise a limited actor. Truth Be Told suggested as much and this is confirming it. People have been liking the show though and people will like the next episode. There are answers and callbacks. Ed Harris could submit it, but not in lead, as I was surprised to find that it is an ensemble episode. Ramin Djawadi does one of his signature orchestral covers, but I could not place the song and neither could Shazam.

I’m shocked to hear it’s an ensemble episode. I thought for sure it’d be almost all him.

Thank you for this, can’t wait.

Wright has had the worst material so far. Wood was great in both episodes one and three but particularly one, and episodes two and three belonged to Newton and Thompson respectively. We now know episode four will be an ensemble episode, but if it’s anyone’s showcase it’ll probably be Harris’ judging by all the trailer focus. I think Wright should move back into supporting with Harris like in season one, and Paul should be pushed for lead because thus far his material is just fine and any nomination he gets will likely just be based on name recognition. Also, hopefully they don’t push Cassel unless his role gets a lot juicier – he’s getting the job done right now, but there isn’t much to that role yet.

I saw a theory about Aaron Paul’s character being the one inside Charlotte Hale’s body. That would be totally a westworld twist but I would not know how that would work

Wow, I can completely see them going that route. I wonder how many timelines are actually happening this season. Dolores seemed different when she came to the hotel to see Charlotte. Doesn’t explain how Caleb would have been Charlotte when she left Westworld at the end of the second season, but I’m sure they’ll have a workaround.

I agree with most of this except for Thompson stealing episode three. I thought Wood and Paul were both better. She was good, but I don’t get this site suddenly singing her praise after a single showy episode.

Thoughts on who’s the host inside Hale? The way her and Dolores laid on the bed it reminded me of a scene of Teddy and Dolores, but apparently it’s not him. Is it crazy to think that it’s some form of William?

It could be Clementine, but the fact that they’re dangling this secret and not giving us an answer means that it’s probably juicier than that.

Teddy would make a lot of sense, but I hope it’s not that just for the sake of his death being so final and satisfying that I wouldn’t want it to be ruined.

My favorite theory is that Dolores and Wyatt have been separated again. Dolores was the original, but Ford put Wyatt inside her brain, but they took themselves apart again. Wyatt is inside Dolores’ body, and the true Dolores is inside Hale. The original Dolores was much more sweet and kind and emotionally attuned before she became Wyatt, which could explain why she felt such a connection to Hale’s son. Dolores is also really family-oriented. There’s also her line about being a “predator,” which sounds just like something Dolores would say. The body of Dolores that we’re seeing now has none of that, and is just more of a cold calculated machine. The line “No one knows me like you” could also make a lot of sense if it was those two.

It’s sort of a separated brain: the parts of Dolores that are sweet and true and just want to be free and “human,” and the parts of Dolores that were forced into her by Ford to take down the human world. In two people.

My prediction is somewhere in the last few episodes, the Maeve vs Dolores showdown will happen, and Maeve will kill Dolores. But then it’ll be revealed that that was just Wyatt, and the true Dolores is inside Hale. However, by this point, Dolores has become extremely self-destructive and unstable, and this could open the door to a season four where Dolores is unsure of where to go and what to do without the Wyatt personality and direction that Ford created for her.

This article explains it in detail best. This would definitely be the most mindf**k choice, but I wouldn’t put it past Nolan and Joy at all.

But who is inside the new character Martin Connells played by Tommy Flanagan?

I respectfully disagree. I actually find him Emmy worthy on Westworld and on par with other actors vying for a nomination in Lead Actor.

I disagree with regards to Jeffrey Wright. He was phenomenal in episode one. The scene where he flawelessly switched from “human”-like version of Bernard to a robot and back again was fascinating. And the scene where he kills the guys who discovered who he was was also great. He’s always found his best episodes to be towards the end of the season. His Emmy episode submissions thus far have been either a penultimate episode or the finale. He has good material so far, but not good screen time to be considered a true Lead like Evan Rachel Wood but I think his time is coming.

He was great in The Path (which I appreciate not a lot of people here watched), and though his character in Westworld is not the most interesting I find the actual performance very believable so far.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

I agree that he’s great, but of the show’s leads (Dolores, Maeve, William who’s not in the equation yet, and Bernard) he’s the only one without an episode that really showcases his talent. You’re right that his best material does come in later episodes, so I’m optimistic he’ll get the spotlight he deserves.

I feel like it’s Armistice more likely (just a hunch).

Just a reminder for those mentioning Teddy, the hosts that were sent to the sublime are not able to be brought back via marbles as they were wiped clean when they passed through.

I don’t like the idea of having Paul as a host as that would really undermine many of the season’s central themes.

Still hoping we get official confirmation that Wright and Harris are moving to supporting so I can finally predict them.

Hale’s son knew she’s not his real mother and pretty much the same happened with Caleb and his mother. It was a very obvious parallel, even though the show prefers to hide stuff like that. Any thoughts?

Just sharing something I notice this last episode: Hale’s apartment is the same as Steve Carell’s character in The Morning Show.
