Watching the first few “Bloodline” S2 episodes this weekend, it occurred to me how underused Sissy Spacek is on the show. She’s a great talent and deserves MUCH more screen time. Who else in TV land is wasted on their own shows?May 31, 2016 at 11:13 am #1201842581
Gabourey Sidibe – Empire
Darryl Hanah – Sense8
Elvis Nolasco – American Crime (misused)
Natalie Dormer – Game of ThronesMay 31, 2016 at 11:22 am #1201842586
F Murray Abraham – Homeland
Love the show, but where is he? Such a celebrated actor wasted in a really minimal role. He gets the occasional play with Mandy Patinkin – but that’s about it. Even when twists involve him the material that follows never really INVOLVES him.
Sissy Spacek – Bloodline
Why would you get someone as talented as Spacek, and why would she agree to the role, just to have her sit in the background? Such a waste of a great talent!May 31, 2016 at 12:43 pm #1201842650
the entire cast of Grace & Frankie is wasted
Jane Krakowski wasted on Kimmy as a bootleg of a better character on 30 Rock
Lena Headey is wasted on this season of Game of ThronesMay 31, 2016 at 1:57 pm #1201842693
Lauren Graham was wasted on Parenthood. After the first half of season one her screen time was greatly reduced, going from a clearly lead character to just a part of the ensemble, and they didn’t give her anything to do but hook up with guest stars and console the typically crying Mae Whitman.May 31, 2016 at 2:36 pm #1201842716
The majority of the AHS cast is out of that show’s league by a mile.
Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.May 31, 2016 at 3:09 pm #1201842736
Judith Light – TransparentMay 31, 2016 at 4:02 pm #1201842763
Light is a great example. Transparent has a quality cast and is a good show, so I don’t want to hate too much, but they definitely could find more for Light, who does an exceptional job with the material she gets.May 31, 2016 at 4:38 pm #1201842769
Jaime Pressly — Mom..She is an EMMY winner, and they have her eat cake and drink water every week on that show.
Mayim Bialik & Melissa Rauch — Big Bang Theory. They barley get to do anything on the show. They both are funny talented women.May 31, 2016 at 7:11 pm #1201842806
– Annaleigh Ashford- Masters of Sex (she is always so great and is a Tony winner; give her more screentime for this fast downward spiraling show!)
– Judith Light- Transparent
– Angela Bassett- American Horror Story: Hotel (she did nothing for me this season in her little appearance, although the season as a whole did nothing for me as well)
– Gabourey Sidibe- EmpireMay 31, 2016 at 7:43 pm #1201842817
I’ve always said that aside from Margulies the cast of The Good Wife was often not used to their potential. Never was this more obvious than with the case of Christine Baranski and Matt Czurchry in the last two seasons. Even when they “got” their own storyline it often petered out before we got a big payoff or the writers just forgot about it.
I also think Sofia Vergara hasn’t been used to her full effect on Modern Family in recent seasons.
The entire cast of “Madam Secretary” sans Tea Leoni and Tim Daly. The writers can’t seem to figure out what character development is or how to incorporate a good B-Story for anybody other than Leoni or Daly. It is especially sad when you have talents like Bebe Neuwirth, Patina Miller and Eric Bergen on your cast.June 1, 2016 at 3:17 pm #1201843147
Matt Bomer was horribly wasted on American Horror Story: Hotel.
Actually the entire cast was wasted.June 3, 2016 at 5:26 pm #1201847165
Jay Pharaoh and Kyle Mooney on SNL. They just haven’t found their spot on the show yet. In fact, most of the male cast is routinely overshadowed by the female cast.
