Just finished Ramy. I liked it quite a bit. I understand why people like it so much.

Especially Hiam Abbas and May Calamawy. Their episodes and performances are particularly great. They would be great supporting actress noms.

Except that Atlantic City episode, damn that was terrible.

Rectify season 2. Even better than the first season. I don’t have much to say except that it’s a brilliant show with a handful of captivating performances!

I’ve been doing a lot of binge watching this pandemic and here is what I’ve watch thus far:

I started bingeing “America’s Next Top Model” but out of 25 seasons (I think 23 are on Hulu) I only got through four before quitting.

Now I’m watching “E.R.” and am mid-way through season 8. This is a show I always watched in reruns but for some reason much of it didn’t really “stay” with me and so a lot of it I’m seeing with adult eyes for the first time.

I also watched the entire series of Hulu’s “Shrill” starring Aidy Bryant, which was a great show that I never knew I’d like.

I also finished up the final season of “Future Man” and also re-watched “A Black Lady Sketch Show” in its entirety and several seasons of “Friends” as well.

Lastly, I also watched a few episodes each of “The Golden Girls”, “The Practice” and “Designing Women”

Started The Americans last night. Very good beginning. Both leads were great. I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something about Mathew Rhys that I just find inherently lovable.

I get the feeling that I’m gonna end up being pissed about Russell not winning an Emmy by the end of this show. I have a similar feeling about Noah Emmerich when it comes to nominations.

Brace yourself for Alison Wright and Annet Mahendru. Brilliant supporting performances.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

Don’t think I’ve heard of Mahendru, but I know people loved Wright. Excited to see her.

I just saw the first two episodes of Stateless and I must say so far it’s probably the best thing I’ve seen on TV this year. I’m so glad this aired after the Emmy deadline because I don’t want to see Strahovski have to face Regina King, Cate Blanchett, Reese, Kaitlyn and Merritt in an already crowded race with lots of deserving performances.

I haven’t seen the rest of the series but she deserves to sweep already and Faysaal Bazi, Jai Courtenay, Dominic West, Asher Keddie and Cate Blanchett already deserve nominations.

The fact Yvonne doesn’t have an Emmy already for The Handmaid’s Tale.

She should have been an Emmy nominee too!
