Yeah I totally agree I was just wondering if the user had gotten to THAT point yet.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

Have you seen Julia Garner yet?

I had no idea she was even on the show, so no.

I finished Amazon Tales from the Loop.

what an interesting show. The acting was excellent. I can see why it didn’t catch on Bc it’s about the mood n has a chill vibe . It’s like meditation on life. Surprised that wasn’t submitted as limited categories . Since it has a clear ending.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>This week Finished OWN “Davis Makes A Man” on HBOMax . What a great show all around.</p>
the cast mainly of young actors is excellent all around . The writing is exceptional even is subject matter is difficult.

I bet would be bigger if another network. Hopefully people discover it on Hbomax

Finished “Space Force.” That was all kinds of awful. Unfunny, silly, and ill-advised. Netflix having this amount of money to simply throw around for no legitimate reason on a premise like this is startling. The talent involved should have known better. The Emmys should have snubbed this crap completely. And what crime did the wife commit? UGH!

Just finished “Becoming.” Excellent documentary on Michelle Obama that shouldn’t have a problem winning the Documentary Emmy this month. It was nice revisiting a time when the world made sense. It might not have been as illuminating as I hoped, but still more than worth the view.

Next up is “Mindhunter”! Back to season 2, which I should knock out this week sometime.

I wouldn’t rank Garner in the top 10 performances on The Americans. You definitely see early signs that she could become a great actress though.

at first I was like really? not even top ten? but then I started thinking about the number of outstanding supporting performances on the show, even past the obvious Wright, Emmerich, and Martindale. There was Frank Langela, Annet Mahendru, Costa Ronin, Dylan Baker, hell Louis Smith for just an episode!… still such an underrated ensemble.

Finished What We Do in the Shadows. Wonderful show. Can’t wait to see what they do next. I really, really hope Stefani Robinson wins writing. Everything with Jackie Daytona had me dying. Funniest episode of this year, by far. I’d also love a series upset, as this is the exact type of show that could benefit from such a thing.

Hopefully the actors can break through in the future, as every member of the main cast is worthy, especially this year’s criminal snubbed Matt Berry. Mark Hamill’s lack of recognition for his guest stint is also very disappointing. Fingers crossed these snubs can be remedied in the future.

Catching up on The Crown, watched Beryl today and wow what a great episode! No wonder why it won cinematography that year and Vanessa Kirby killed it.

She should have won! Now imagine how much she must be killing it in Pieces of a Woman if that’s meant to be her best performance

Honestly imo one of the best character based episodes of television ever.

Just finished all five seasons of The Wire and then read everything on the internet ever written about it.

Punched out Ramy S2 in a night and a half this week. Currently labouring through S3 of The Handmaid’s Tale.

Yesterday, I’ve watched “The Duchess” on Netflix.
I love Katherine Ryan I think it’s a great show: fast paced, socially conscious, and absolutely funny.

Finally up to date with Ozark. I’ll eat crow, it’s quite good. Especially season 3.

Did they get new showrunners/new writers this season? It’s almost a different show. Especially how they were able to write female characters
much better and even adding in a little bit of humor and emotional weight. Those first 15 or so episodes were so cold and lifeless, not to mention that pretentious and dreary cinematography. But Tom Pehlphrey and Laura Linney broke my heart in “Fire Pink.”

I still think the first one and a half seasons are objectively bad.

To me, the showrunners stopped trying to emulate the better shows that had come before, and were able to craft something that felt fresh and compelling. And I definitely think this is because they have placed a greater emphasis on creating multi-dimensional female characters than most other shows of its type.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)
