Is Ty Burrell not getting nominated a crazy prediction? That’s probably my only one.March 14, 2017 at 10:42 pm #1202037244
Rhea SeehornMarch 14, 2017 at 10:47 pm #1202037248
I’m kind of wondering if you might be on to something with your predicted snub of Sarandon, bergfeld. Her politics alone could cost her votes, plus it doesn’t help that she still can’t keep her mouth shut about her hate for Hillary. I could definitely see it rubbing voters the wrong way, and with competiton so stiff she could miss.Riley (the normal one, not the one who won the predictions contest)ParticipantMarch 14, 2017 at 11:05 pm #1202037257
SAG dropped Cumberbatch and he has been around a while.
I would advise hedging your bets a little.March 14, 2017 at 11:12 pm #1202037258

i checked your predictions and snubbing Benedict Comberbatch is definitely crazy. Predicting Jane Fonda is semi crazy but not really.
Cumberbatch snub is based on the bad reviews for Sherlock, I think the academy will take notice. Fonda was just an “idk who else to put here right now” kind of add in. I did my predictions in like 5 minutes while I was taking a shit, so you can’t look into them too much, I’ll update them quite a bit.March 15, 2017 at 12:00 am #1202037267
Probably snubbing Millie Bobby Brown, nominating Vanessa Kirby for The Crown and Jeannie Berlin for The Night Of.
That and predicting Fargo across the board lol but with the Fargo Emmy track record it doesn’t seem too unrealistic.March 15, 2017 at 12:13 am #1202037278
Feud getting mostly shut out of the major categories, although I have Molina and Tucci getting nominated just in case…March 15, 2017 at 6:54 am #1202037516
I have This Is Us missing drama series. I’ll probably chicken out and add it in later, but for now I just don’t see it happening. I think Brown and Metz are pretty much locks, though.
I also have Michael McKean getting in for Better Call Saul rather than the Westworld guys. Also Black Mirror over American Crime.March 15, 2017 at 7:23 am #1202037540
Nothing too crazy at the moment but I do have:
-The Young Pope getting into limited series over Feud.
-I dropped House of Cards from my drama lineup and kept in Mr. Robot.
-Jared Harris and Vanessa Kirby (along with Foy and Lithgow) getting in for The Crown
-Elisabeth Moss winning for The Handmaid’s Tale. Obviously this is total speculation but something about a Foy sweep across the season doesn’t completely sit right with me and, hey, got to keep things interesting.
-Atlanta winning comedy series (is this really that crazy, though?)
-No supporting actors for This Is Us
-Looking: The Movie in the last spot for TV Movie, mostly because I can’t really think of anything else to put there – that category is looking like such a wasteland right now so may as well stick with HBO I guess. Treme got some nominations when it switched to the movie categories, no?March 15, 2017 at 11:39 am #1202037740

Hey Teridax, I’m trying to respond to you in this thread about what you said in the miniseries topic because I can’t post in that thread. So here’s what I tried to say there,
Yes locks, Bryce Dallas Howard over Lange and Sarandon? What are you smoking, I’d like to try it? If she sneaks in it won’t be at either of their expense. Lange would be nominated for anything she does and this is regarded as some of the best work of her entire career, she’s as big of a lock as it gets. Sarandon isn’t quote the emmy darling Lange is, but she too is doing career best work. This is the type of shows the emmys eat up, they love Ryan Murphy and it has the critical acclaim to justify it as more than just emmy bait.Riley (the normal one, not the one who won the predictions contest)ParticipantMarch 15, 2017 at 1:02 pm #1202037807

At least Treme had a prior directing nomination in drama and Emmy winner David Simon behind it. I have Christmas of Many Colors in the fifth slot. It sounds ridiculous, but it got fourteen million viewers on NBC and the last one (Coat of Many Colors) even scored an ACE nomination (and a Critics’ Choice nomination), so the franchise is vaguely on the industry radar. It will probably just be Ricky Gervais’s The Office spin-off on Netflix though.March 15, 2017 at 1:14 pm #1202037812

Yes it does – but I guess it’s as likely as anything else at this point.
Weird how limited series continues to thrive and grow ever more competitive while TV movie struggles to fill out its top category.
