Always been fascinated by this hypothesis. Often we look at the SAG awards to see which contenders will be dropped off by the Emmys later in the year. Sometimes we’re right (Julia Roberts won’t get in!) , sometimes we’re wrong (only Moss got in so no Handmaid’s supporting actress will get in at the Emmys!). I suppose if there were supporting categories we’d be able to tell which show has more support and it would change some contender’s chances a bit.

Below I’ve put a list of contender’s I think would have gotten into hypothetical “SAG Supporting” categories this decade (as well as “Lead” ones as in this hypothetical the “Actor (insert genre here) category” has gone). Feel free to post your own hypotheticals below!

I know Joseph Fiennes was the only supporting actor from a drama series nominated that year, but I feel like the divisiveness of his performance wouldn’t stopped him from winning that year, as his nomination always struck me as being more of coattail. Other than that I agree with most of the winning choices.
