It’s definitely 5. 6 is the only one that approaches being bad, and even it still had its moments. Here’s how I’d rank them.

Season 5 had the greatest run of episodes I’ve ever seen:
4- Mystery Date
5- Signal 30
6- Far Away Places
7- At the Codfish Ball
8- Lady Lazarus

And then:
11- The Other Woman
12- Comissions and Fees

I think The Phantom is pretty great too. The ending of that episode was so perfect. And Christmas Waltz is an incredible episode. Don and Joan at the bar might be the best character interaction on the show.

The show was win worthy for each of its seasons (apart from 6) but season 4 was the superior girl.

 

FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

Honestly, I don’t get the praise for 4. It’s still very good of course, but only about half of the episodes felt particularly notable (The Good News, The Rejected, The Suitcase, The Beautiful Girls, Hands and Knees, Chinese Wall, and Tomorrowland). And even in those, there were some parts that didn’t work that well (like Lane and the Playboy waitress in Hands and Knees) or that fell short compared to other seasons (Tomorrowland is a good episode, but it’s easily the second-worst season finale after In Care Of).
