Last year we saw Maisel and Barry dominate the Comedy acting field, When They See Us dominate the Limited/Movie field and Game of Thrones dominate the Drama field. What do you think will dominate this year?

    My thoughts :

Comedy – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (12 nominees)
Drama – The Crown (7 nominees)
    Limited/Movie – Watchmen/Mrs. America joint (6 nominees)
Overall – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

Maisel, probably. But I feel very unsure about Wanda Sykes, Sterling K. Brown and Michael Zegen.

Watchmen can really overperform (I especially noticed this today when filling my Gold Derby Awards ballot). The same can be said about Schitt’s Creek.

I agree about Watchmen. I don’t see Schitt’s overperforming at the expense of Maisel and I think if Maisel doesn’t get multiple acting nominations it is due to smaller shows such as The Great or Dead to Me overperforming.

Nonetheless I think Schitt’s will get multiple acting nominations (I am currently predicting four but I could see Emily Hampshire sneaking in a line up of 8).

I think Wanda Sykes is comfortably win and might end up surprising us by winning Cherry Jones style. I agree with the lack of confidence around Brown and Zegen although I think what helps the former (although maybe not enough to help me find a way to predict him) is the fact he is such a beloved name and has pretty much gotten in for anything and what helps the latter is his placement on the ballot.

What worries me about Watchmen is the fact that we keep forgetting how it bombed with actors like Succession and The Good Place did. However the acting categories are so empty and there is literally nothing else to predict so I might as well predict Watchmen and Mrs. America to overperform.
