The show hit a series high in the key demographic this week, so they should be well on their way to a writing nomination, but I am concerned that they will submit two episodes this year instead of one.  Last year, they only submitted the finale, which was written by creator Jemaine Clement, showrunner Paul Simms and executive producer Stefani Robinson (coming off an individual nomination for Atlanta).  This year, Simms and Robinson wrote the finale with new co-executive producer Sam Johnson.  Clement’s only writing credit is a May episode titled “The Return”, which he also directed.

The new episode this week might be the funniest so far

Big fan of Better Call Saul, Sex Education, Barry, BoJack Horseman, and, especially, Survivor

“The Curse” is probably the funniest episode of the serie so far. The scene if them discovering the email of Timothy..loved it.

“The Curse” is outstanding. May be to early to say but this has got to be the best comedic ensemble of the year. Every single line of all 5 main characters makes me laugh.

“Did I tell you about Arianna and how her guts were ripped out and left on her parent’s porch?” This episode was brilliant funny.

I just recently binged the first season and a half of this show and found it riotously entertaining. My friend once showed me the first fifteen minutes of the movie and I found it funny but it didn’t inspire me to watch the rest of the movie nor start the series, but then I turned on the first episode and was tickled by this particular brand of humor. The series grows more assured of its actors and characters with every passing episode. It is also truly an ensemble and main focus can shift from episode to episode on any of the five main characters. I don’t know FX’s Emmy strategy, but I think you could conceivably run all five regulars in Supporting. This season has been on fire and at the very least (since it seems achievable) a Writing nomination would be well warranted. Because of the strength of the ensemble, it is hard to pick a favorite but Harvey Guillén has been given some really great material this season and Mark Proksch got a pretty great standout episode last week. Given the state of the comedy field, I’d love to see a breakthrough for this show and I’m looking forward to keeping up with the rest of the season live!

I could not have said it better myself. I watched the movie a couple of years ago and I tough it was funny but not one I would necessarily return to and then this show comes out and its so much better than the movie. The cast is beyond exceptional and everyone brings their A-Game week in and week out, but the standout for me has been Guillen as well. I would love to see this show recognized across the board Series, Acting, writing etc. More people need to discover this show they have no idea what they are missing. This season as even been better than the first which was already a brilliant season. The first episode with Haley Joel Osment to the hysterical Mailer Demon to the Collin Robinson episode. I love the fact that they always call Colin by his full name or call Guillermo Gizmo. Seriously its my favourite show on tv at the moment and I would actually say one of my favs of the year so far because everything else has been disappointing except for Better Things and Killing Eve.

“I don’t live to drain, I drain to live” / “It’s entirely possible that what rappers are saying is true. I mean, being boss is dope” / “He is in death mode to save energy” / “Colin Robinson multiplied himself by three and bored himself to death” / “He is not a wildcard, he’s the card you get on top of the pack with instructions on it so you can throw it away”

This episode was fucking hilarious and this is by far the funniest show on television. Mark Proksch should get nominated for this epidode.
