My biggest risks are in comedy categories

    Comedy series: Russian doll

Comedy actor: Jim carrey and Jim parsons

    Comedy actress: Issa rae

    Comedy supporting actress: Molly shannon

Wanda Sykes getting in for The Other Two instead of Black-ish.

The Other Two getting three acting noms (Sykes, Shannon & Tarver) + Series and Writing and maybe original song.

Homecoming overperforming because no one on here (or elsewhere on the internet thinks it will get anything anything out Julia, Cannavale and maybe some techs)

Ramy surprising with anything really. Such a timely auteur show in the vein of Master of None and Atlanta won’t go unnoticed. Maybe two or three noms.

Aunjanue Ellis & Niecy Nash both getting noms, Farmiga snubbed (but then again her category is a wasteland)

Hill House getting any of their actors in (Pull thru, Pedretti!)

Also, Sense8 getting into TV Movie.

I personally have 100/1 odds on:

Bodyguard, Jeremy Strong, Viola Davis, Matthew Macfadyen, Peter Mullan, Janet McTeer, Michael Mosley, Jeremy Allen White, Laura Niemi

Ricky Gervais, Anna Chlumsky, Stephen Root, Molly Shannon, The Masked Singer, Marie Kondo

Chernobyl, The Hot Zone, Jared Harris, Connie Britton, Julianna Margulies, John Leguizamo, Michael Kenneth Williams, Vera Farmiga, Marla Gibbs, Emily Watson, Robin Weigert

    Big money!

My 1/100 odds are (some of them have shortened since I predicted them)

Maya Rudolph (Forever), Jim Parsons, Laurie Metcalf, Michael Zegen, Andrew Scott, Sally Philipps (95 but w/e), Rufus Sewell, and David Schwimmer.

Sarah Paulson, Jeremy Strong, Keeley Hawes, Gwendoline Christie, Indya Moore, Alfie Allen, Hong Chau, and Eric Bogosian.

The Haunting of Hill House, Niecy Nash, Peter Dinklage, Emma Thompson, Victoria Pedretti, Margaret Qualley, Michael Kenneth Williams, Stellan Skarsgard, Oliver Jackson-Cohen. (I had The Act for a long while but swapped it for THOHH last minute)

    Late Night with Seth Meyers

I live for those 100/1 predictions every year. I don’t care for my overall score predicting the Emmys. All I want to see are my 100/1 picks getting in.

This year, as always, I’m going all in:

    Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
    The Big Bang Theory
    Issa Rae
    Jim Parsons
    Leslie Jones
    Mayim Bialik
    Regina King
    Don Cheadle (SNL)

    Jeremy Strong
    Kathy Bates
    Indya Moore (POSE)
    Sandra Bernhard (POSE)

    Niecy Nash
    Michael Kenneth Williams
    Stellan Skarsgard

    Nick Cannon

I hope Seth Meyers gets nominated. I think he’s the best late night interviewer even over Colbert.

Here are some possible huge shockers, not necessarily predicting them, but I think they could theoretically happen:

Gina Rodriguez- Very slim, but it’s the final season and it’s still airing. Her category is packed, but if all the competition thins out support from the top players, a small block of passion could help her for the final season.

William Jackson Harper- His show is on the rise, he received a critics choice nominations for this season, and he has increased visibility with Midsommar.

Jack Ryan- So many parallels to Ozark, down to an exact meta critic score for the first season. Swap Laura Linney for her husband Timothy Hutton. They most likely have similar audiences. And we know there’s at least minimal visibility due to Krasinski’s SAG nomination. It even made an impact at Critics Choice with Dina Shahibi, who I could also see sneaking into a nomination. Wendell Pierce also makes sense, given that he is a co-lead and is very overdue.

Sarah Snook- She’d be a slam dunk in supporting, but her show is going to be a hit and lead is weak, so she could definitely get in.

    Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

I hear the arguments against UKS but, for having been nominated every season thus far, I think it’s actually being underestimated.

Is there precedent for a show that has been nominated every season being dropped in its last Emmy cycle? It’s the same reason I am tempted to go with House of Cards.

I asked the same question months ago, and apparently there had been one, though it dates back to years ago. House of Cards is definitely in the mix. @Riley even pointed out how it increased in guild nominations.

This is intriguing. Jack Ryan is Amazon’s most watched original and Krasinski is on his way to become an established name in the industry with A Quiet Place.

Bodyguard is probably a better analogy than Ozark. It would be the exact type of thing that Emmys would do to nominate Krasinski instead of hot&young rising star Madden in another mainstream terrorist show.

I almost want to predict him just for the bragging rights.

I checked and for Drama Series “Six Feet Under” is the most recent. In comedy it was “The Golden Girls”. “Will & Grace” was snubbed for season 8, but it was not nominated for its first season.

Also, bare in mind these were in years with five nominees. I’m predicting for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt at 100/1 odds because it has been nominated every season. And although the only major noms it got last year was S. Actor and Series, when you have 7-8 nominees. That seems to be enough.
