Everyone has a weird prediction or a longshot. What is your longshot this year that your proud of?August 10, 2014 at 10:11 am #327001
I say if the drama winner is not “BREAKING BAD” then it will be “House of Cards” which has almost the same amount of buzzAugust 10, 2014 at 10:15 am #327002
My weirdest prediction at the moment is Steve Buscemi for Comedy Guest Actor. But I’m torn between him, Jimmy Fallon, and Bob Newhart. None of those three will surprise me.August 10, 2014 at 10:18 am #327003
The editors went into great detail on why he’s probably a threat for the win, but given how he’s only 3rd in the predictions center, I guess mine is currently Joe Morton.August 10, 2014 at 10:20 am #327004
My two weird predictions are Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen winning supporting comedy actor & actress. Neither have textbook Emmy tapes, but they are memorable and quite hilarious in their own ways. I may conform to the general consensus nearer Emmy day, but for now, these are my longshots.August 10, 2014 at 10:23 am #327005
Mine is probably Melissa McCarthy. She has the best episode submission she makes us feel bad for her after her fathers death and makes us laugh at the beginning scene. While I feel Dryphuss is just OK.August 10, 2014 at 10:39 am #327006
I guess my weirdest is Martin Freeman winning for Fargo. But if the voters watch the whole series (or most of it), they’ll see his arc and transformation and won’t be able to not give it to him.August 10, 2014 at 1:43 pm #327007
Mine is Martin Freeman for Fargo. People always talk about how the voters usually don’t watch every episode of a mini-series. So if they only watch the first two or three episodes, they willn kinda sympathise with Freeman’s character. Plus Billy Bob Thorton isn’t in the first episode that much.
If they watch the whole thing, they will see Lester’s (Freeman) Walter White like transformation from good to bad. And Emmy Voters love that
Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.August 10, 2014 at 2:01 pm #327008
Fred Armisen. And you will all be kicking yourself when his name is announced.
FYC: Ready Player One. Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Visual Effects, Original Score, Production Design, Director and BEST PICTURE (make it happen Oscars!!)August 10, 2014 at 2:08 pm #327009
Even though she will probably be higher before emmy night, I think Claire Danes counts as my wierd prediction.August 10, 2014 at 4:13 pm #327010
Martin Freeman beating all the normal heart’s guysAugust 10, 2014 at 4:28 pm #327011
I’m really curious to see whether JLD can three-peat for Veep or not. All it takes (as we saw last year a LOT) is for a group of fans of a certain type of show to make a few extra votes for one person for a random win. I mean, like Wever, we could just end up with a group of strong Nurse Jackie fans who love Edie Falco and she may win. Likewise, we could find ourselves with a bunch of die-hard Orange fans for lead or supporting actress, leading to a Schilling or Mulgrew win.August 10, 2014 at 5:15 pm #327012
Van Patten for directing. He is my fav director on TV.August 10, 2014 at 5:40 pm #327013
