Martin Freeman (wrong category if he needed to win) beating Matt Bomer. What the?!August 27, 2014 at 10:56 pm #330675

Agreed, then the no show made the win even worse! (also, see Martin Freeman’s win).August 27, 2014 at 11:12 pm #330676
Martin Freeman. You know Cumberbatch i’m ok with just for the fact he is great on the show but Freeman has never been a stand out for me. If Freeman won for Fargo it would have been better. Modern Family and Burrell pissed me off as well and somewhat Paul because I really wanted Josh Charles to win an Emmy. And Jodie Foster not winning was sad too.August 27, 2014 at 11:14 pm #330677
Aww, I actually kind of like that Freeman won something. Even though it was the wrong category, and Bomer was my choice there, I still thought he was pretty great in Sherlock’s finale.
But, of course, Modern Family’s series win. I could actually let its other victories slide, as I love Ty Burrell and thought “Las Vegas” was one of its very best episodes (and better than Orange is the New Black’s). But, seriously, the insanity with its Series monopoly has to stop.August 27, 2014 at 11:25 pm #330678
“True Detective” comitted category fraud! “Breaking Bad” should have won directing won directing but I think it should have been Rian Johnson for “Ozymandias”August 28, 2014 at 4:37 am #330679
Rian Johnson’s direction in Ozymandias is beyond the narrow scope of the Emmys.August 28, 2014 at 4:52 am #330680

- Benedict Cumberbitch winning over Ruffalo, Thornton and SPECIALLY Freeman was pathetic. I “hate” him.
- Jim Parsons winning over Ricky Gervais. A crime.
Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch winning pissed me off. I love Sherlock, but I don’t understand the love for the show in it’s 3rd season. I would have been happy seeing Mark Ruffalo or Billy Bob win. Also that Emmy award should have been Matt Bomer’s. I really don’t understand how Matt lost. So sad.August 28, 2014 at 10:33 am #330682
-Modern Family winning a fifth in a row over Orange is the New Black pissed me off on a visceral level but I understood why it won.
-Jim Parsons winning again is a joke and joining people like Carroll O’Connor and Michael J. Fox for most wins in that category is embarrassing, IMO.
-Aaron Paul, to me, got swept in with all the Breaking Bad love. He’s great on the show but I don’t think he deserved 3 Emmys for it.
-Them going back to awarding The Amazing Race… come on.
-Kathy Bates was great on Coven but over Allison Tolman and even Julia Roberts? No.
-And of course, Martin Freeman beating Matt Bomer just hurt. It felt wrong.
A lot of things pissed me off at the Emmys this year.August 28, 2014 at 10:42 am #330683
Martin Freeman & Benedict Cumberbatch who I enjoy their work, but not over Matt Bomer and Billy Bob Thornton
And Allison Janney is funny on that show Mom, but I just generally is rough to watch. Chuck Lorre’s shows are usually not my favorite.August 28, 2014 at 10:42 am #330684
None pissed me off. I really don’t take any of it personally enough for it to do that. But I would have loved to see Tolman win. The Coven acting is so over the top, and I’m so over that, that it would have been lovely to see an actor win for a performance like Tolman’s. She was wonderful, and such a pleasant surprise. I wish good things for her in the future.August 28, 2014 at 10:56 am #330685
Ty Burrell winning over Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Matt Bomer losing was awful as well.
