MASH and The Carol Burnett Show also won 8.

It’s funny how their GG count is because of their main star. SJP won 4 GGs, Carol Burnett won 5 and Alan Alda 6. But SATC also won Best Comedy Series 3 times compared to the other 2 that each won in that category once.

According to the Golden Globes database The Carol Burnett Show won Comedy series twice.

    Carol Burnett Show awards:
    1968 – Actress in a television series
    1970 – Series Musical / Comedy + Actress Musical / Comedy
    1971 – Series Musical / Comedy
    1972 – Actress Musical / Comedy
1975 – Supporting Actor (Harvey Korman)
1976 – Supporting Actor (Tim Conway)
    1977 – Actress Musical / Comedy
    1978 – Actress Musical / Comedy

Making nine awards and making it the record holder.

(Alice, M*A*S*H and Sex and The City are all one behind on 8)

Most articles I’ve seen list The Governor and J.J. as winning the series award in 1970 over The Carol Burnett Show.

And All In The Family also won 8 Golden Globe awards.
