Why do we need to have a discussion about which shows will “flop”? I agree that it unnecessarily creates negative buzz. We are also about 6 months away from the Globes and have not even seen these shows yet — why already judge them? I would have even preferred a thread titled “Which shows are you predicting not to do well at the Globes?” The word “flop” takes it to another level. Or even better: “Which shows do you think will do well at the Globes?” We are part of the problem if we’re creating negative buzz around shows before they’ve aired.

    Probably won’t flop

    A Teacher
    The Undoing
    We Are Who We Are

The anthology aspect will hold it back

    Small Axe

Will probably be good but on the HBO-Maxness of it all

    Boys

Will be good quality-wise but won’t touch awards

    Bly Manor

    Could go either way

    The Comey Rule
    The Good Lord Bird

    Could be too weird

    The Third Day

The Anthology rule will be implemented this year where Anthology Series will compete in Limited/Movie…also I have read that Small Axe episodes will be feature length..so might be submitted as 5 TV Movies by Amazon.

Everything black will probably flop. Remember those When They See Us/Watchmen snubs. Yeah.

To be fair, Watchmen was competing as a drama series last year.

WTSU missing is still inexcusable though.

One down (3rd Day), nine to go

    Dear Emmys Voters

Television has never been better and it’s a pandemic year.

    Be bold, not boring.
