“The Good Wife” has won at least one acting Emmy each year the series has been on the air (supporting actress, lead actress, guest actress and guest actress). Will the trend continue this year?August 12, 2014 at 5:11 pm #327205
Josh Charles has the best shot I think. Margulies as well but both have tough competition. I would love this to be Baranski’s year. Baker probably doesn’t have much of a shotAugust 12, 2014 at 5:14 pm #327206
I think Margulies and Charles both have a decent shot at winning. Margulies more so, simply because Paul and Dinklage are pretty stiff competition.

I’m thinking it’s more likely to be Baranski than Margulies or Charles. I think Supporting Actor and Lead Actress are the two most competitive races this year; and I think Baranski is more likely to win.August 12, 2014 at 5:22 pm #327208
Yeah that’s my only worry about Charles. That is such a close race.August 12, 2014 at 5:25 pm #327209
Christine Baranski had her best year of material to work with in Season 5, but can she win against Anna Gunn?August 12, 2014 at 5:51 pm #327210
I am rooting for Marguiles maybe Josh Charles if he can beat out the amazing Aaron PaulAugust 12, 2014 at 5:56 pm #327211

I think Anna Gunn is the biggest Actress lock of the night, and second biggest overall behind Matt Bomer. Of course, never ever ever count out Maggie Smith in an Emmy category.August 12, 2014 at 6:09 pm #327212
Sad to say, I think Good Wife’s best chance at a win is in Casting. Baranski has the second best chance because of her great submission. Charles cannot compete against Paul and Dinklage, and Margulies cannot contend with Danes and (I guess) Caplan.August 12, 2014 at 6:26 pm #327213

Although it is well read that Anna Gunn is not present next year, I DO hope Baranski has next year.
BUT, there are more shows with other actresses. What if True Detective premiers their second season next year and features, I don’t know, Maggie Gyllenhal (sorry for the misspelling) and she is GREAT? What if the Academy finally changes the rules and moves the anthrologies here, with the GREAT Kathy Bates? Or, what if The Americans finally get nominated here?
Lots of big questions. But, please, The Good Wife should have its due.August 12, 2014 at 9:29 pm #327216

Supporting Actress drama (well, I guess comedy too) have had their fair share of suprise winners (i.e., Archie Panjabi, Cherry Jones, Katherine Heigl). Gunn is stellar though, I will give her that. I just hope Baranski will win an Emmy for this role.
