I have a  hunch that Allison Janney will join this club very soon.

Kathy Bates won for Guest Actress Comedy – Two and a Half Men and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Television Movie for American Horror Story: Coven. Kathy would have been a worthy winner for for Drama Lead Actress in Harry’s Law.

Yep. She could have very well joined this year had she been nominated for Bad Education.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

I just realize that if Linney wins for ”Ozark”, she will have Emmys in Drama, Comedy (Frasier) and Miniseries (Wild Iris, John Adams and The Big C) categories.

As far as my research went, the only other performer to have awards in those genres is:

    Cloris Leachman:

Comedy: Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series (Malcolm in the Middle, 2x)
Outstanding Single Performance by a Supporting Actress in a Comedy or Drama Series (Mary Tyler Moore 2x)
Drama: Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series (Promised Land)
Limited: Outstanding Single Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (A Brand New Life)

+ she two awards in Variety categories.

    – Ed Asner has Emmys for Comedy and Drama categories (both for Lou Grant) and has one Emmy for ”Roots”, but he won in a ”guest” category. Does it count as a win for Limited? If so, I know those two people.

    Is there anyone missing?

I would say Edward Asner counts. All the Roots cast were put in “single appearance” categories. Odd since most of them are in more than one episode so its not really a single appearance. I guess because nobody appeared in all the episodes they weren’t put in the regular limited series categories. It was a strange way the classified them. Plus you have heavy dramatic performances going up against some comedic ones.

Thank you for defending Linney’s win for “The Big C.” She should have easily won over Melissa McCarthy in the comedy category (one of the biggest WTF moments, IMO). Her win in the limited category for the series…sure, they played the category game, but she deserved it for the work she put in that year. Especially that final episode. I don’t think I can rewatch “The Big C” for that reason (and haven’t watched it since it aired)–too good and too sad. This is also coming from someone who agrees that “Asylum” is Jessica Lange’s best AHS season.

Linney should have won the comedy lead actress instead of Melissa and Tbh as much as I love Lange, Moss had the best performance in top of the lake IMO

Uzo Aduba did what others couldn’t and did it with just four nominations.

And with only only two (iconic) characters.
