Emmy wins that I don’t agree with usually stop bugging me a week or two after the actual ceremony. The one win I can think of that still boils my blood to this day is Jim Parsons winning his SECOND emmy over Steve Carell last year. The idea that voters dislike Carell that much makes me a little depressed. And, honestly, pretty much every other nominee was more deserving than Parsons. Even Galecki would have been an endearing surprise. But, really, that Emmy belonged to Steve Carell.

The WORST Emmy win I can think of this year is Maggie Smith. All of the nominees were better than Smith. Hell, I would have been pleased if Anna Gunn would have won. But, over Christina Hendricks was BS. I mean, she had the best submission out of all of them, and the showiest! Her submission was tragic and heartbreaking, while Smith’s was like three minutes TOTAL! Because Smith is an Oscar winner and is a so-called acting god, but that is no reason for Smith to win.

Doris Roberts winning so many damn times for the same tired performance. Especially over much better performances by Wendie Malick and Kim Cattrall.

Completely agree! Doris maybe deserved 1 or 2……. but 2 of her emmy’s should be with Wendie and Kim

“so-called acting god” whether you like her or not, you have to admit that she is supremely talented, and her legendary status has been solidified. However, I agree that she was the least impressive of the 6 nominees. The combination of her and their obsession with Downton Abbey was too much for the Academy to handle, unfortunately.

She’s my favorite character from Downton Abbey, and thats why i was glad she won. But i can see why people think it was not a deserving award. But she was not the worst out of all 6 nominees…… not at all. Frogatt’s nomination was REALLY deserving. Gives me hope that maybe Edith’s character could get nominated, she was given a good storyline in Downton.

Modern Family winning Comedy series ( should have been Curb )
Jon Cryer winning this years emmy ( should have been larry david )
Melissa McCarthy winning ( Amy should have won )

    I so second that.

Wendie Mallick lost to Doris Roberts in 2002 and I do not recall Wendie Mallick being in contention for the award.  I thought that Kim Cattrall or maybe Cynthia Nixon had a really good chance to win.  I thought that Wendie’s chances were better in 1999.

Just picture if Doris Roberts won in 2004. 5 STRAIGHT WINS she would have had.

Jaimee Presley winning Supporting Actress Comedy  in 2007 over Jenna Fischer and Conchata Ferrell.

James Spader winning Lead Actor Drama in 2007 over James Gandolfini.

Mariska Hargitay winning Lead Actress Drama in 2006 over Frances Conroy.

Brad Garrett winning Supporting Actor Comedy in 2005 over Peter Boyle.

Allison Janney winning Lead Actress Drama in 2002 and 2004

Marg Helgenberger winning Supporting Actress Drama in 1990 over Diana Muldaur from L.A.Law

Candice Bergen winning Lead Actress Comedy in 1990 over Delta Burke.

The Wonder Years winning Comedy Series in 1988 over The Golden Girls and Cheers.  The Wonder Years only had 6 episodes for its first season.  I felt that The Wonder Years was more deserving in 1989 when it lost to Cheers.

Yeah, Peter Boyle deserved it 2005. His submission “Boys’ Therapy”, was sad and funny.

Brad Garrett did deserve it in 2002 and 2003. His performance in “Lucky Suit” was hilarious, especially after the interview, when he opened the door and he was making that face and not blinking his eyes. COMEDY GOLD!

Seriously??? she deserved like 7 for that show! lol doris Roberts won 4 for everybody loves raymond and Estelle wins 1 for Golden girls….. this doesn’t make sense!

Mariska Hargitay winning Lead Actress Drama in 2006 over Frances Conroy.

Hargitay’s win was so hard to watch… poor Conroy. She really should’ve won.

Whether she’s a “legend” or not, it’s clear that the voters simply checked of Maggie Smith’s name. She didn’t deserve that award, especially not over Hendricks or Anna Gunn.

I know many hate John Cryer and/or his wins for “Two and a half Men”, but I think he deserve at least one. I don’t mind in lead, because he actually was co-leading since day 1.
He’s playing the “loser” brother, homeless, no money, unattractive, bad luck with women and actually everything in his life.
He doesn’t have cool lines or looks, but he has the most akward and often painful situations and that’s what it is, a situation comedy, a sitcom.
John Cryer puts great effort in his mimic and body language to show his misery.
*lol* I’m not his biggest fan or whatever, but I can really understand why he won. He didn’t need to win twice (actualy no one really does for one TV performance, if you ask me), though I give him that one win.
