Christine Baranski’s Diane finally becomes a judge and Gary Cole’s Kurt becomes a more prevalent character so they can really leverage their different political views in the nuanced and balanced way The Good Wife has so successfully done. It would be a great way to incorporate all of the great peripheral characters into the series, too, trying cases against each other in Diane’s courtroom.

I love the one about Elsbeth. How about Robin as her investigator! That could be fun.
Or David Hyde Pierce as the Chicago State’s Attorney.
Love the idea of Diane as a judge with Gary Cole being a regular. I saw some posting online saying we need a NYC set legal show to be able to use the great treasure trove of theater actors!
Ooh, something with Audra MacDonald!
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 8, 2016 at 7:45 pm #367585We all know that the best spinoff ever would be “The Incredibly Unreal Sounding But Totally True Adventures of Kalinda Sharma,” but that ship has long sailed away. Back to Elsbeth, she could run her own law firm of lawyers quirkier than she is, but that might turn into some awful “Boston Legal” kinda shit. Maybe work for Lockhart, Agos, & Lee? Or If she partnered up with a “straight woman” again (plz no Jill Hennessy ever again!) as law partners, this might be where Christine Baranski could shine. I’d even accept Elsbeth as a “Monk”-like private investigator helping law enforcement solve especially tricky crimes in novel ways. She’s disillusioned with practicing law for some reason and wants to make a difference from the inside. So many peripheral characters could be given a spotlight in these last episodes, but I don’t know about headlining.

Perhaps they each go their seperate ways. Diane becomes a judge; Cary opens up his own boutique firm and each of them attempt to find themselves again.
This could allow us to learn a lot more about Cary, perhaps even see his family life; and we could see more about Diane’s personal life too.
