Just binged watched this entire show and absolutely loved it. At first, it was cute, but somewhere along the way I really grew to love it. Jane Levy is INCREDIBLE.

I’m four episodes into this and still not sure how to feel. Jane Levy is very very good, and her talent and overall ‘vibe’ is so great. Her inevitable Globe nomination will be extremely deserved. The Mo character is one we’ve seen before, but Alex Newell has so much charisma and energy that he really pulls it off and makes Mo my favorite. Lauren Graham is fun too, but I want meatier and stronger roles for her. The dad story is so personal and tragic, but everything else feels a little by-the-numbers in comparison. My least favorite part is actually the songs. The premise of the show is so fun and I love the idea, but I just can’t stand the song choices they’ve made. I really wish they’d taken the time to write original songs, as tunes like “Roar” and “Wrecking Ball” undercut the genuine emotions of the scene with, for lack of a better word, complete cheesiness. I really like Zoey’s inner conflict, and the show reminds me a lot of The Good Place in its ‘doing the right thing and helping the people around us’ theme. I’ll probably end up finishing this just because it’s a breezy and light story I can scroll on my phone during, and I’m enjoying it, but I won’t be rooting for it to win any awards soon. But then again, I’ve only heard amazing things about the second half, so I will probably hold all final judgments until I’ve seen “Zoey’s Extraordinary Glitch” and “Zoey’s Extraordinary Dad”.

“Harvey Guillén will recur on the second season of NBC’s “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist,” in the multi-episode arc, Guillén will play George, a new programmer who is constantly looking for approval from the titular Zoey (Jane Levy) and his colleagues. His first episode will be the second season premiere, which does not have a specific date just yet but is set to be in 2021.”

Yass. Exited to see where S2 leads, the finale felt so final (lol) that you could’ve told me it was a miniseries I and wouldn’t have questioned it all.

I was on set for her final scene shot! It was actually just on November 30th between production of the fifth and sixth episodes.

I’m sad that Lauren Graham won’t be on this season, but I had heard that was a possibility. I thought she did great in her role last season and I loved the interplay between those two characters and that mentorship.

I was so glad to watch it last night and it had a great mix of comedy and drama. Jane Levy continues to knock it out of the park and Mary Steenburgen is just a national treasure.

I laughed, I cried, I felt. My dad is going through dementia and the lockdown just made it so much worse losing his routine, so watching last season was very difficult. But also it inspired, so that’s nice. I’m glad Zoey didn’t lose her gift because the musical numbers are spectacular. Welcome back Zoey!

That makes sense, since it’s apparently Joan’s last episode.
