Once again the original post got stuck in “waiting for moderator” status and no one seemed anxious to take any action, so I’ve copied it here.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up seeing on the Tonys in any way, shape, or form.

I wonder what will end up taking the Cort Theatre in the spring.

A proposal to expand and renovate the Cort went before the Landmarks Commission this week, so perhaps nothing but construction workers will be going into the Cort in the spring.

I guess that Once on This Island is now a major player in the Best Musical Revival. Of course, it’s too early to consider it as a winner since there’s also the revival of My Fair Lady and Carousel coming in a few months.

I was already excited to see Island next month, but now even more so. That Times review is a publicist’s dream.

Though it seems we may have a competitive race this year for Best Scenic Design of a Musical with potential nominees such as…

    Dane Laffrey-Once on This Island
    Christopher Oram-Frozen
    Scott Pask-The Band’s Visit
    David Zinn-SpongeBob SquarePants

Of course, we haven’t even seen what Michael Yeargan has in store for My Fair Lady yet. Likewise for Santo Loquasto on Carousel, though it should be interesting to see what he comes up with given how Bob Crowley’s sets was one of many things that earned so much acclaim for Nicholas Hytner’s production back in 1994.

I think Mean Girls, also by Scott Pask, could be a player too. The LED projections are a solid concept executed to perfection. They really help define the tone of the show.

SpongeBob SquarePants has just opened, and the critical response has been pretty favorable with a few exceptions (most notably from Brantley)…
