Seeing all the nominations for Finn Ross in projection design reminds me of when in 2013, Kenneth Posner was nominated in 3 out of the 4 slots for Lighting Design Of A Musical at the Tonys for Cinderella, Kinky Boots and Pippin. However, he lost all of them to Hugh Vanstone for Matilda: The Musical.

So that’s the second time this Awards season that Caissie Levy has been shut out. I’ll hold my judgment till Drama Desk nominations but that doesn’t bode well for her.

Also surprising amount of love for Prince of Broadway.

It’ll probably go the same route as Tuck Everlasting and American Psycho: a lot of OCC love, but virtually no Tony love.

    No Caissie Levy again.

Not to mention that Harry Potter himself, Jamie Parker was snubbed again as well (though I doubt that will be the cast at the Tonys).

No supporting folks from Island, even with Band’s Visit not eligible.

The biggest shook for me is the fact that almost half of the Mean Girls cast got a nom with inner competition, but Henson who had no inner competition was left-out.

And how funny that we debate for so long between Weed or Rockwell, or maybe both, but they went with Park AND Butler LOL

Almost half of the nominees (15 to be true) are not Tony-eligible, but I really hope that the cast of Harry Potter, Once on this Island and Angels in America gets more love than the obvious players.

Margaritaville getting a Best Musical nom wtf

Margaritaville is not nominated in any other categories!

No Alex Newell or Lea Salonga – Hailey Kilgore is nominated though.

Taylor Louderman and Ashley Park surprise me. I thought Barrett Wilbert Weed and perhaps Kate Rockwell would join Kerry Butler…

    No love for KPOP?

No Lee Pace, James McArdle or Susan Brown for Angels…

Not sure if I need to revise my predictions and in which categories…

Glenda Jackson and Lauren Ridloff are the only broadway actresses nominated in their category. Andrew Garfield and Tom Hollander (who I have been predicting for quite some tiem now) for Lead Actor.

Can Tony Yazbeck and Emily Skinner get Tony nominations for POB?

David Morse is the lone nominee for The Iceman Cometh…

I am predicting Christopher Gattelli gets two Choreography nominations, like he did here…

Patrick Marber’s nomination for Travesties is a big surprise…

When are the Tony nominations being announced?

Just to remind everyone the Outer Critics have no correlation with the Tonys. No need to change any predictions. Don’t go crazy over these noms or the Drama Desk noms. Jeffrey Kare, please reiterate this for the novices.
