    Costume Design of a Musical
Jeff Mahshie – Kiss Me, Kate
Bob Mackie – The Cher Show
    Gregg Barnes – Pretty Woman
Paul Tazewell – Ain’t Too Proud
    Lighting Design of a Musical
Donald Holder – Kiss Me, Kate
Tyler Micoleau – Be More Chill
    Bradley King – Hadestown
    Kenneth Posner – The Prom
    Sound Design of a Musical
Ryan Rumery – Be More Chill
    Nevin Steinberg – Hadestown
Brian Ronan – Kiss Me, Kate
Kai Harada – Head Over Heels
    Orchestrations
Michael Chorney & Todd Sickafoose – Hadestown

Hadestown will get a costume design nod I think and Oklahoma! will get a lighting one.

King Kong will probably get a single nomination for Sound Design.

I would expect King Lear to get in for Lighting and Beetlejuice for Costumes.

I’m sure Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus will be up for Scenic Design and Costume Design.

I kind of think Hadestown will win set and lighting design. Has a woman ever won for set design? It doesn’t happen too often and they use it really well in the piece.

^We just saw Mimi Lien win Best Scenic Design of a Musical two years ago for The Great Comet.

What are people’s thoughts on Ann Roth’s costumes for The Prom? I feel like Jeff Mahshie, Bob Mackie, and Michael Krass have got their nominations locked down, but for the fourth one I’m between Ann Roth and William Ivey Long.

William Ivey Long is as beloved by the Tonys as Sandy Powell is by the Oscars in that they both almost always seem to get nominated every year. So based on names, I’m going with him.

William Ivey Long could either earn two nominations for both of his projects (Beetlejuice and Tootsie) this season, earn a nomination for one of them, or split his support. As of now, I think he’ll only get in for Beetlejuice given how that’s suppose to have showier costumes. Then again, he also has the challenge of creating costumes for Santino Fontana to convincingly transform himself into a woman for Tootsie.

Tootsie will get much better reviews. I’d bet on that nod, together with Hadestown, Cher Show, and either the Prom or a second nod for Beetlejuice. I’m starting to lean towards The Prom.

You don’t have Jeff Mahshie getting nominated for KMK?

^Yeah, I think Kiss Me, Kate could actually win Best Costume Design of a Musical.

What are people’s thoughts on Be More Chill’s chances? Some reviews singled out the design aspects. I don’t see it getting costumes or really scenic either, but I could see it getting a lights or sound nod.
