Rumor has it that Anne Hathaway and Kit Harington are both in talks to star opposite each other in a new play by John Logan titled Double Feature. The work would feature two plays in one and will touch on Hollywood legends such as director Alfred Hitchcock, actress Tippi Hedren and horror auteur, Vincent Price. The play aims to hit Broadway in 2021, with hopes for a West End production to follow. There is no confirmation on either run at this time.

According to Michael Riedel’s latest column, a musical adaptation of the TV show Hee Haw is in development to hopefully hit Broadway in the 2020-2021 season. https://nypost.com/2020/01/09/hee-haw-gets-closer-to-broadway/January 12, 2020 at 3:06 pm #1203277453
The Hee-Haw thing has been bouncing around forever. I’ll believe it when I (don’t) see it.January 13, 2020 at 11:14 am #1203281670

Looks like the Britney Spears jukebox musical, Once Upon a One More Time, will be opening at the Marquis Theatre on Broadway this summer.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this musical is going to be an epic failure. There’s no way a musical featuring the songs of Britney Spears can survive on Broadway.January 16, 2020 at 11:04 am #1203287859
I Like that Once Upon A One More Time is not just another bio-musical and seems to have an original story, while incorporating the music of Britney Spears. I could see this having a similar run to the Cher Show, but I would love to be wrong.January 16, 2020 at 1:07 pm #1203288062
Holler If Ya Hear Me was an original musical that used Tupac Shakur’s songs back in 2014, and that proved to be an epic flop. Head Over Heels, an original musical with the songs of the Go-Go’s, only survived a few months on Broadway last season. Let’s face it, with the exception of Mamma Mia!, original musicals that use other artists’ songs almost always flop. Once Upon A One More Time is going down that same path.January 16, 2020 at 4:46 pm #1203288395
Escape to Margaritaville is another recent failed example of this genre. I think a similar fate awaits OUAOMT. Same theater, too.January 30, 2020 at 9:54 am #1203319909
Looks like the stage musical adaptation of Almost Famous will be coming to Broadway this fall.

Nathan Lane has confirmed that he and Laurie Metcalf will be starring in Death of a Salesman in spring 2021, to be directed by Joe Mantello. Love the cast, but do we really need another revival of this?February 16, 2020 at 4:04 pm #1203348910
David Byrne’s American Utopia will be making a return engagement to Broadway’s Hudson Theatre next season.
