The work would feature two plays in one and will touch on Hollywood legends such as director Alfred Hitchcock, actress Tippi Hedren and horror auteur, Vincent Price. The play aims to hit Broadway in 2021, with hopes for a West End production to follow. There is no confirmation on either run at this time.

There’s no way a musical featuring the songs of Britney Spears can survive on Broadway.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 16, 2020 at 11:04 am #1203287859I Like that Once Upon A One More Time is not just another bio-musical and seems to have an original story, while incorporating the music of Britney Spears. I could see this having a similar run to the Cher Show, but I would love to be wrong.

Head Over Heels, an original musical with the songs of the Go-Go’s, only survived a few months on Broadway last season. Let’s face it, with the exception of Mamma Mia!, original musicals that use other artists’ songs almost always flop. Once Upon A One More Time is going down that same path.

Love the cast, but do we really need another revival of this?
