So in light of today’s events (I.e., the Outer Critics Circle Nominations, what do we think the odds are of Christy Altomare earning a nomination for Best Leading Actress at the Tony’s above Phillipa Soo or Eva Noblezada? I know Anastasia reviews were so-so but it just led OCC nominations and Christy got nominated over Soo, Noblezada, and Laura Osnes.

I have Denee Benton getting in based on the strength of The Great Comet. As for the 5th slot, you might as well throw a dart on the board for that one.
I currently have Eva Noblezada taking it based on the strength of her role as Kim. She also has a great narrative to how she got the role. While the current revival of Miss Saigon did earn such a mixed critical response, the original production did as well.

ETA: Though based on the rulings, she’ll be in Featured.
ReplyCopy URLApril 27, 2017 at 11:50 pm #1202078461Christy Altomare is becoming more and more of a contender for this. It’s looking like she has the potential to elbow out Phillipa Soo.
ReplyCopy URLApril 28, 2017 at 3:38 am #1202078608At the moment I have Christy Altamore, Christine Ebersole, Patti LuPone, Bette Midler and Laura Osnes. I took out Denee Benton and feel uncertain about it.
ReplyCopy URLApril 28, 2017 at 8:27 am #1202078919I think Denée will certainly get in, if nothing else for riding Natasha’a coat tails. As near I can see the fifth nominee will be between Phillipa Soo and Christy Altomare. The buzz has all but died for Eva Noblezada, and I don’t see Laura Osnes getting nominated for this one.

For sure but I’m trying to lock down the fifth nominee.
