Stew & Heidi Rodewald, who were the creators of the 2008 Tony-winning musical, Passing Strange, are going to be writing songs for a completely original movie musical that Spike Lee is set to direct.

This would mark Spike’s first time directing a musical. He was previously attached to direct the film adaptation of Rent before Chris Columbus eventually picked it up. Though to this day, many people still wish they got to see what Spike Lee would’ve done with it.
