In a recent interview by RuPaul for Marie Claire, Country music legend Dolly Parton revealed that “I’m still working on my life story as a musical, and so I’m not sure if I want to do it as a feature-film musical or if I do want to go ahead and do it on Broadway.”

I’m over the bio-musical thing, but her life story could work. Especially if they leave it to the early years. (I mean, ever since 1980, she’s been a huge success, so where’s the conflict?)

Like how I think the Madonna film should end up with her performance of Holiday on Dick Clark / “rule the world”. That’s why if Dolly life story does happen I think it should end (at Max) with her deciding to leave The Porter Waggoner Show and close on I Will Always Love You.

I could definitely see this being a hit on the same level as Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. All they have to do is find a singer/actress who can nail Dolly’s iconic accent.
