Producers Ken Davenport and Bob Gaudio (who was one of the original Four Seasons depicted in Jersey Boys) have announced today that a new biographical musical telling the incredible life story of legendary singer-songwriter Neil Diamond is currently in the works for Broadway. Tony winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) will direct with a book by three-time Academy Award nominee Anthony McCarten, who has written three films (The Theory of Everything, Darkest Hour, and Bohemian Rhapsody) to an Oscar win for Best Actor.

I’m guessing “Sweet Caroline” will be the finale song.

Can’t we just watch The Jazz Singer instead?

Ken kinda turned me off with Gettin’ the Band Back Together, especially when he put it in the script to warm up the audience before every performance. What show needs to promote itself after everyone’s in the seats?

Neil Diamond’s name alone will probably be the main promotional factor for this show.

Ok so I was thinking this through last night and lets say it has around the same amount as Beautiful and the CHER show in terms of song. What songs besides these do you guys think will be used since these seem to be the ones radio stations/oldie stations play the most:
1.”You Are My Love at Last”
    2.”Solitary Man”
    3.”Cherry, Cherry”
    4.”Girl, You’ll Be a Woman Soon”
5.”Thank the Lord for the Night Time”
    6.”New Orleans”
    7.”Shilo”
    8.”Red, Red Wine”
    9.”Sweet Caroline”
    10.”He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother”
    11.”Cracklin’ Rosie”
    12.”Song Sung Blue”
    13.”America”
    14.”You Don’t Bring Me Flowers”
