    Less than a month until the end of the season, here are my current predictions in all of the plays categories. Educated guesses and knowing I will be proven wrong in several of these categories!

    Best Play: The Children; Farinelli & the King; Harry Potter & the Cursed Child; and Junk

    Best Revival of a Play: Angels In America; The Iceman Cometh; Three Tall Women; and Travesties

    Best Director: Trip Cullman, Lobby Hero; Marianne Elliott, Angels In America; Joe Mantello, Three Tall Women; John Tiffany, Harry Potter & the Cursed Child; and George C Wolfe, The Iceman Cometh

    Best Actor: Andrew Garfield, Angels In America; Tom Hollander, Travesties; Nathan Lane, Angels In America; Jamie Parker, Harry Potter & the Cursed Child; and Mark Rylance, Farinelli & the King

    Best Actress: Glenda Jackson, Three Tall Women; Elizabeth McGovern, Time and the Conways; Laurie Metcalf, Three Tall Women; Condola Rashad, Saint Joan; and Lauren Ridloff, Children of a Lesser God

    Lobby Hero got raves. It will definitely be nominated for Revival and a few others. Though, Angels and Harry Potter will sweep.

    Best Play:
    The Children

    Best Revival of a Play:

    Best Performance By a Leading Actor in a Play:

    Denzel Washington-The Iceman Cometh

    *If Nathan Lane competes as lead for Angels in America, I’d say he gets in over Tom Hollander.

    I wonder what Nathan Lane is pushing for here. If they pushed him in supporting he’d have a much better shot at the win, right? I’m thinking maybe he wants another win under his belt and is willing the producers to campaign him in featured with the committee. Or maybe he like the pedigree of being in the leading category. Best Director is a bloodbath. Between the 5 you’ve mentioned, I don’t know how you pick a winner. I guess Harry Potter is the obvious choice because of the overall accomplishment that it is, but Three Tall Women and Angels in America sound flawless. Not sure what, if anything, I’d change in your picks!

    When will the committee be making its final decisions on category placements? I would be really surprised if Lane winds up in the Featured Actor category…
