MsMojo has recently debuted a video on the Top 10 Movie Musicals We Wish They’d Make With the Original Cast. For this list, they’re only including movie musicals that have been released or are currently in the works right now that they would’ve loved to have seen made with the original Broadway (or London) casts. Though they are also considering revival casts. However, you won’t be finding musicals like Into the Woods nor Sweeney Todd since those already have proshot tapings of their original stage productions with (most of) their original casts intact. They’ve also limited their choices to musicals with existing film adaptations.

If you want to know what’s in the list, you have two options. Either read their official rankings below or watch the video.

    The official rankings are…

    10. The Prom
    9. A Little Night Music
    8. Once on This Island
    7. Rock of Ages
    6. Evita
    5. Nine
    4. Chicago
    3. Wicked
    2. Les Misérables
    1. The Phantom of the Opera

Honorable Mentions: A Chorus Line; The Last 5 Years; Mame

Hi, I recently wanted to watch this musical via YouTube on my PlayStation but because it broke I couldn’t do it for a very long time as my TV wouldn’t accept Smart TV to watch YouTube. However, I did find an article that helped me to fix my PlayStation in no time at all. If you have the same problem, I recommend you check this for more info . Thanks to this information you can find a solution for your PlayStation.

I agree The Prom could have been done better, not just with the original cast (and without Corden) but with a few plot changes, such as having Emma’s grandmother do more than just one scene of exposition.

Now that I’ve thought about it, I wish we got a movie of The Phantom of the Opera with the original cast (or at least a capture of it). Having rewatched the 2004 film adaptation a couple months ago (which was no fun at all), it had a lot of questionable choices from the casting to Joel Schumacher’s directing to the somehow Oscar nominated cinematography.

I’d also add Hello, Dolly! to this list.
