This was a pretty strong set of people but I went with the decade’s first winner: Viola Davis.

This is a tough one between Glenda, Elaine, and Cicely for me, but I ultimately voted for Glenda. A brilliant performance in a brilliant Albee play, and a triumphant return to Broadway.

Elaine May for me.  She wasn’t acting.  She was just living.  However, Viola Davis ties with her in my mind for a now legendary performance.  Honestly, what a lineup of such supremely talented women.  We really have been spoiled.
