Creating this thread is a risk considering there are probably very few people on the forums who were keeping record of personal television winners as they are now (I myself have only just started to think about television from this period quite recently) but considering we already have a thread for television from the 2010s I still thought it might be an interesting prompt.

– 2009: Mad Men (Season 2) / Breaking Bad (Season 2)Note: Dramas were a lot harder for me (despite various repeats of the same shows but different seasons) due to the sheer number of quality dramas that aired in the 2000s but it’s hard to not mention The Wire/The Sopranos in the early 2000s and Mad Men/Breaking Bad in the late 2000s.
ReplyCopy URLJune 15, 2022 at 5:12 am #1204983972I agree compiling a drama series list was quite a difficult task. Battlestar Galactica for example is one of my favourite shows of all time and it pained me not to give it a single drama win. Same with deciding a winner for 2005. Lost season 1 might be close to my favourite winner out of those in my personal awards for drama series from this decade but it was probably the most difficult one to decide for me between The Wire season 3, Veronica Mars season 1 and the first season of the Doctor Who revival all airing that year.

yesss those were some golden years, I don’t have my own list but I love all of these pics. And I love seeing other Wire Season 2 fans! Season 4 was still the best, but Season 2 was golden and profound. Frank Sobotka, what a character.

Gellar should have been up there with Elisabeth Moss and Julianna Margulies in amount of drama lead actress Emmy nominations.
