WINNER: Cinematography for a Multi-Camera Series — Country Comfort

I wonder if this won due to Donald A. Morgan three way vote spilt with himself.

Pose is lucky to be in contemporary this year, but it’s deserving in all three of the categories in which it has won today. A+ work.

Categories The Queen’s Gambit and Mare of Easttown are coming up against each other in at the creative arts:

    – Casting
    – Editing
    – Sound Mixing

They already came up against each other in cinematography but nothing was ever beating The Queen’s Gambit there because it was practically undeniable once it won at the guild over Watchmen. Editing sometimes isn’t that much of a reliable bellwether when contenders face internal competition (Insecure won comedy editing last year and GoT overcame a three way split in editing but lost directing and s.actress in 2019) so The Queen’s Gambit (barring any surprises) is probably winning there.

Casting will be the key one to watch out for here. I think I’ll predict whatever wins there (Mare beat Handmaid‘s in prod design even when Succession couldn’t and The Queen’s Gambit winning casting, editing and both sound categories is almost a clean sweep of the limited categories).

    Oscars FYC:
"THE POWER OF THE DOG" – IN ALL CATEGORIES
"SPENCER" – In all categories especially Director (Pablo Larrain) and Actress (Kristen Stewart)
"SHIVA BABY" – in all categories especially Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Score
"TOGETHER" – Actress (Sharon Horgan), Actor (James McAvoy), Original Screenplay
    "FLEE" – IN ALL CATEGORIES
"LAST NIGHT IN SOHO" – Director (Edgar Wright), S. Actress (Anya Taylor-Joy/Diana Rigg), Cinematography, Costume Design and Production Design

The Queen’s Gambit deserved costumes. That white outfit in the finale is gorgeous.

    3 for 3 so far.

3 for 4. It lost Prosthetics.

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!
