Do we think S3 of I Am… is being released this year? On one hand, it’s first episode I Am Ruth starring Kate Winslet has wrapped filming, on the other hand there has been no information/development regarding the other episodes of the series.
Unless they’re being filmed right now and will announce after they’ve wrapped production/are closer to an air date.
I think we may get them this year!

I am hoping it will air this year, these kind of dramas don’t need a lot of post production work. It could be a quick turn around.

They didn’t announce who was going to be in series 2 until the premiere date was set.

May 28, 2022 at 3:56 am #1204965995A few comments on things I’ve watched over the past month.
Derry Girls: Fantastic end to the show. Wasn’t overly enamoured with the ending of Episode 6, but they pulled it back with the final episode. Those first few minutes! Wonderful. This season was all about the mams for me, but the girls were also fantastic (though at times I sorta wanted Coughlan to dial it back on the shrieking)
The Other One, Season Two: Blew me away, laughs every single second. I quite liked the first season, but wasn’t that bothered on if it came back or not. But this season just threw me. Was not expecting how great it would be. With the addition of the third “mum” with Michele Austin, and Siobhan Finneran bringing the house down in every single scene. This show has everything; Deliveroo vs Uber Eats, spying on people at the gym, Caroline Quentin jacked up on energy drinks. Gutted this season was only five episodes, but those five episodes were some of my favourite of the year.
Conversations with Friends: A major disappointment. Though I managed three episodes. I love the book. But this show is so miscast and so boring. A real struggle to bring to life when a lot of the book is text messages and emails, but this cast have done nothing to bring it to life. I sort of want to persevere, there are a few scenes with Jemima Kirke’s character that I really want to hold on to watch, but it’s so much time to devote to a show that’s a total snooze.
Big Boys: Have only seen the pilot, but very promising! I read a review saying the script was basically loveofhuns as a show, and that’s really all I need.

May 30, 2022 at 7:33 pm #1204967865Sally Wainwright already has 3 writing BAFTAs and 3 producing BAFTAs and yet after watching the finale of Gentleman Jack season 2 and the whole first season of Last Tango in Halifax, it feels like she’s not been awarded enough for the quality of her output. Her character crafting, world building and range are all masterful.

After what happened with It’s a Sin, would she even have been nominated for this if it was the greatest show she’d ever been in?
