I’m over here in the US, and finally have gotten to finish the Gentleman Jack and Peaky Blinders recent seasons. Wow that is some acting in GJ from Suranne Jones, Lydia Leonard, and Sophie Rundle. Especially Jones.

At first Sophie Rundle’s performance seems a little one-note. But then seeing her as Ada in Peaky Blinders really underscores for me some of the subtleties and, well, talent, involved in portraying Ann Walker as her character develops through Season 2. Those two characters combined together are quite a feat. I’m probably a million years late to this observation, I know.

Suspect (Channel 4) getting quite scathing reviews so far…saving grace seems to be BAFTA fave Niamh Algar, though!

I love Cush Jumbo, but another detective mystery show? Bar her Hamlet run she has been making questionable choices since leaving The Good Fight. Stay Close was absolutely dreadful. I would love to see her do a comedy, she had such great comic timing as Lucca.

FYC: "What We Do in the Shadows" and "Severance" in everything, Natasha Rothwell ("Insecure"), Sophie Thatcher ("Yellowjackets"), Renee Elise Goldsberry ("Girls5eva"), James Caverly, ("Only Murders in the Building")

Is this confirmed to be going drama? I assumed it was a mini-series.

    No nothing about it’s future.

To be fair, it should be Mini Series and only placed Drama once it gets a confirmed second series.

Not sure if anyone’s watched this (I’ve watched 4 out of 6 – they’re 15 minutes an episode and so easy to watch!) but the Saturday Kitchen sketch in the first episode made me absolutely howl with laughter.

Thanks for compiling that list of eligibile performances AMG. As we’re halfway through the year, I figured I’d pick the three performances from each category I’d like to see most nominated. (I’ve leant more towards comedy than dramas this year, so my drama selections here are a little sparse)

    LEAD ACTRESS
    Jodie Comer – Killing Eve
    Erin Doherty – Chloe
Monica Dolan – The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe

    LEAD ACTOR
    Kit Connor – Heartstopper
Eddie Marsan – The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe
Ben Whishaw – This Is Going To Hurt

    SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Michele Austin – This Is Going To Hurt
    Pippa Bennett-Warner – Chloe
Ambika Mod – This Is Going To Hurt

    SUPPORTING ACTOR
Struggling here for any performances that have really inspired me here, through a lack of seeing lots of shows on this list.

    FEMALE PERFORMANCE IN A COMEDY
Siobhan Finneran – The Other One
Tara Lynne O’Neill – Derry Girls
    Maggie Steed – Ten Percent

    MALE PERFORMANCE IN A COMEDY
    Jack Davenport – Ten Percent
    Ian McElhinney – Derry Girls
    Jon Pointing – Big Boys
